1. Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

i love tropes, A LOT, and i’ve written a good number of them - but the one trope i love the most and that i’ve never written a fic for is i believe….fake dating :’’’D (my all time favourite romcom is THE PROPOSAL. i’m not even sorry.) i’ve done accidental marriage (the vegas fic), but never fake dating. i’m writing fake dating for an origfic romance though! but. for fandom… one day. one day i’ll make it happen.

it could be a lot of fun to write a road trip au sometime? i’ve never done that. (or wait - have i? i mean. i tagged up all night for bucky as road trip though all that road tripping is mostly done by train in europe, lol. which…is the kind of road trip fic i’d write in the first place as i’m not a big fan of long car rides in the first place and anyway trains are better for the environment. I DIGRESS.) *throws up hands* i don’t know! 

2. Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?

oh i dunno. i can’t think of a trope that i hate THAT much. i’m less keen on creature fic (and wingfic) and i can’t see myself writing one of those ever, but i’ve read some good ones despite not being a fan? idk.

a few others i follow have been posting a lot of dragon age so I'm picking things up there too. my origin story is warrior but I was thinking abt trying it as mage too. dragon age wikia has been helping me make some of the major decisions though...

human origins then? they’re the only one with 2 choices--noble or mage origins--i can think of. there’s 3 diff elf origins (mage, dalish, city elf) and 2 dwarven (noble or casteless) too and I recommend playing through one of the dwarven ones (especially noble) just bc it makes going to orzammar a completely different experience. granted each origin makes a different part of the game more interesting so it’s a hard decision. mages are a lot of fun! i think warriors are easier to fight with for a first time video game player tho, so good choice there haha. 7/10 times i’m playing a rogue tho bc i hate not being able to pick locks myself. 

I have recently started playing origins (it’s my first video game ever!!!! if you don’t count dr mario and duck hunt on the NES) so I’m avidly following & making mental notes on everything being posted ahaha

which origin story did you do? my first play through I did the mage origins (elven one, but outside of some racial comments there isn't much difference between elven and human mange origins). 

it was def not my first video game, but dragon age 2 was my first ever bioware game (unless you count the first 30min i played of knights of the old republic before it crashed when i was like 10). i liked mass effect more bc i’m a scifi nerd and i self inserted so hard (I’M THE SAVIOR OF THE GALAXY), but that game is difficult if you’re terrible at shooting games. 

i’m so glad you’re playing it! as much as the fandom eats each other alive (though if you’ve been in any big fandom this will be par for the course ha), the game is so so fun and the characters are great. the series is a heck of a lot of fun because of how involved you the player feel, though I definitely struggled with making some of the choices (even if I was treating the character as it’s own separate entity from me with their own thoughts and choices bc I struggle to make any mean or super pragmatic choices even if the character would). and origins has my very favorite character in the entirety of the series (leliana)!!! inquisition does too so she’s got super amazing graphics face on top of being my fav haha.

i’m happy to share the recipe :D but be warned that i eyeball most of my measurements so this is not a very structured recipe

peach thyme jam

peaches! (i used 3 and got a pint of jam. you could definitely use more)

sugar, to taste (with a small amount of fruit, start with a quarter of a cup and add more if needed)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon thyme (or to taste)

dice your fruit and put it in a saucepan or a frying pan if you are super into real ~jam~ texture. add lemon juice, sugar, thyme.

heat over medium until the fruit starts to break down. 

at this point, i use a potato masher to mash my fruit into smaller bits.

taste and adjust sugar and thyme as needed.

cook till jam-like. if you really care, you can test the set on either a cold spoon or a plate. thicker = better.

if you just want some jam, stick it in a jar and keep it in the fridge for a few weeks.

if you want some jam that’ll be there for you in the cold months of winter, water bath can that shit
