Hey there! I just had a quick question, is there an order to playing each of the companionsā days off and how many does each companion currently have? I hope youāre having a great day/night! :)
Hi there, there's no particular order, though some companions can become 'locked' if you don't spend time with them before a certain point (for example, if you don't spend any time with Riel prior to Chapter 8, you won't be able to start his character arc after Chapter 8, because his first day off sequence acts as if you don't know things about each other when, in fact, you would by that point). You can always check how many interludes each companion has by checking the quickbuild feature and going to the section about each companion's day off interludes!
Hey! So, the drawing you reposted of Trouble reminded me that Iāve been dying to find that scene lol. I remember reading that bar scene where we go after Trouble because heād disappeared, and then the MC finds him all beat up and talks to him and everything. But when I played that scene, I was on Redās route, so I didnāt get any of the romantic dialogue. Now that Iām doing his route (using the quickbuild to see specific scenes), I canāt remember which chapter it happens in anymore lol. I think Iāve redone the quickbuild like five times trying to find that scene hahaha.
Would you be able to tell me which chapter that happens in? I honestly canāt handle redoing the quickbuild anymore lol :'D
Hi, that scene takes place on his sixth character interlude, so you can actually use the quickbuild to set his number of interludes to "5" and then skip ahead to the nearest day off! It's actually more tied to how many interludes of his you've done than it is to the chapter number! :) Hope that helps and makes sense!
Is the quickbuild option available for the public demo? :D I'd like to try out a few different choices without having to replay the game again! No worries if not! But if it is, may i ask where to find it? I can't see it on the main menu Thanks and have a wonderful day!
Hi there, the quickbuild is a feature exclusive to the alpha build, only because it's heavily experimental and can break the game, which players of the alpha build are already used to. The public demo is more of a finalized, "official" demonstration of what the finished game is going to be like, for new and old players alike, so it doesn't get wonky testing features like that š Hope that makes sense!

Hello! I'm in the Wallmire chapter right now. Red says, "on the basis of suspicion... especially to people like and me." I assume this is supposed to be "especially to people like [MC name] and me." If it helps with finding this bit of text, "especially" is in italics (idk exactly how you would search text to find a specific bit, but I imagine that might matter!).

hi lena! is there any chance of the āskipping aheadā mechanic being added to the twine edition of the game, or is that something that canāt be brought over due to coding? love the game and newish to the patreon, but just curious if we have to start from the beginning or if i am missing something lol
Hi, this question has been answered a few times now, both in the Patreon comments and on this blog: yes, because the Twine version is a new version of the game built from the ground up, you'll have to play it from the beginning! I'm not providing a way for you to instantly skip ahead to a future chapter at this time, especially as we need to gather data and address bugs instead of letting people skip ahead automatically right from the get-go. I'm also copy-pasting my comment from Patreon about it here:
So that was the quickbuild option, which was an alpha-only way to skip ahead to different chapters if you'd already played the game before but, say, Dashingdon lost your save files. Because the Twine version just came out, I'm not providing a way for people to skip ahead to Chapter 8 or something right now, because I'd like people to play through and experience the entire game first before investing time into rolling that feature out again. It was always meant to be an alpha-only testing shortcut, though, not something in the final version of the game, so if I do bring it back sometime in the future, please don't expect it to be in the published version of Shepherds of Haven! It's mainly meant to help testers explore different routes for bug-hunting purposes, etc. It is not meant to be a permanent function of the game: that's what saves are for. So for now, everyone's going to have to play through the game organically rather than being able to manually set relationships, stats, or skip chapters! Hope that makes sense!
