This is a different Minecraft world than the canon version we play in the game. Villagers and Illagers can live in settlements together along with "players" ( I don't know what to call them because in my mind they're all humans, but player models are clearly distinct from villagers ). That doesn't mean the world is peaceful. People still seek power. In one settlement, the ruler lives in a subterranean dwelling and is afflicted with a hidden curse that has warped his body into something monstrous. Slowly going mad, he has his youngest child raised deep beneath the surface, her life entirely encased within rock. His wife, the Evoker, goes along with him because of his iron grip over the town—but she secretly visits their daughter. The Captain is a reluctant member of the town's guardsmen who begins uncovering the secrets of the ruler and his use of magic, of which he draws from an unseen source. When she discovers that he has his daughter locked in a prison deep undergound and she has never seen sunlight, the Captain makes a vow to save the child. In this pursuit, the Captain and the Evoker's paths cross....
