#question for admin

Because I honestly don’t know how to tag anymore without upsetting people. I have now temporarily added more tags, including some that have been suggested by other anons that I use. But, idk if this is good enough or correct. If you look under the tag "shipping discourse" on this blog you should be able to find all relevant post on this topic.

I am also trying to set up a new set of tagging rules for myself when the poll is done. Exemple of the kind of tagging rules I have in mind: every confession around non cannon shipping gets tagged with shipping discourse no mater if it’s positive or negative for people that want to filter out shipping completely.

I am once again asking to keep in mind that I am only one person doing this for fun. And try to be as neutral as possible and listen to the community at the same time.

No shame to the poster for not liking the ships, I personally don't like some of them either and even find some boring. It's completely valid and I'd even be curious to see what ships the anon IS interested in with the characters (i rarely see people shipping yi city characters with characters outside of yi city, and im always excited to see it). And this is not a strong critique of the blog itself, I can see you're working hard to make the blog a nice place.

That said, maybe don't tag posts like these for the ships involved? Idk about the xuexiao and songxue tag, but the songxiao tag barely has any new content. So it does suck when there's finally a new post on a tag you're following and it's ship negativity. I don't mind so much when this happens on like the bingqiu tag (that I also follow) because it updates a lot and the negativity gets easily buried in ship love. But for rarepairs or ships that aren't that popular, it just kinda sucks to see it and know "now every time I search up songxiao for the next month or more, this is going to be the first thing I see on the latest tab... great...."

Anyway, I understand that tagging is also a useful method for you to organize your blog internally, so I won't make a stink if nothing changes. I thought I'd just express how this can be an issue for less popular ships (or characters).

Admin answers: Thank you anon for bring this up and sharing your opinions around the way I tag these post. It’s a very valid criticism that I am going to spend some time thinking about on how to do this better.

It’s kinda difficult to decide what tags to add around shipping, because of keeping consistency, what’s fair, organising things on topic, ect. I also feel conflicted about tagging ships in one post, but not the next because of the size or any other reason when the confessions is about said ship.

Maybe I can add a critical [ship name] tag to confessions criticising a ship as well so that people can block that tag if they don’t want to see anything critical of those ships? I try to add those already to submissions that are critical of characters. The anti tag does feel too harsh for when people are just saying that they don’t care for something. I personally don’t know what is the best option. So this is me asking everyone that wants to, to share their thoughts about this in the comments . (Anon ask and my DMs are also open as well like always.)

Because I completely get it not wanting to get these confession spammed in you smaller ships and rare pair tags. (I, the admin, am a rare pair shipper, so I get it completely!)
