Spring into 2019 Week 2
Hey y’all. Week 2 has been going good! I have been pushing myself to hit all my goals this week! I was so excited to be at the gym and being able to hit my leg press weight of 230lbs (something I have been working on getting back to for over a year since I tore the cartilage in my right knee). Also, in the last two weeks my new weight has been constant, though I have added around 8lbs of muscle mass (so that is exciting)!
On the flip side, I am working to be understanding of me eating a non-keto meal and the effects it might have on my progress while not feeling guilty about it. For now, I am feeling good about celebrating in the moment (especially since I got accepted for a once in a lifetime opportunity within my field)! But it has made me want to double down even more and work harder towards my weight goal!
Physical:
-Get back to being on super strict keto = 5 days (I broke down and celebrated with some ice cream & pizza)
✔️ Drink at least 2L of water a day = 7 days
✔️Go weightlifting twice a week (with an allowance for two skip days)
✔️Go spinning three times a week (with an allowance for three skip days)
✔️ Go bouldering at least twice a month = Once this week
✔️Hit my fitbit steps and stair goals everyday (12,000 steps and 10 staircases)
Mental/Emotional:
✔️ Take time to meditate three times a week
✔️Do one self-care thing (bath, face mask, movie, etc) a day
-Learn to trust the process, meaning weighing in only once a week
✔️Go out and do something every two weeks that is special for me
✔️Doing a minimum weekly check in post on tumblr
Still working at Keto especially after my week has been both wonderful (did all the things I have been putting off) and frustrating (low-key killed my laptop, and found out my weight gain from 2016 to 2018 might be due to a medication I am on). I am still hovering around 240's after several weeks of being at 230's. Though looking at some of the stats and pictures compared from now and November (both at around 240lbs) I can see some small differences, which is a swap of about 6lbs of muscles from fat. Anyways, that is what has been going on in my world, and I am going to keep on pushing!
The difference of 30(ish)lbs in my face (also apparently a loss of my tan). I was so excited to see this today when I got my headshots back today!
After some pain in my knee after 30 mins of cycling, we switched to stair stepper and treadmill for 10 mins a piece to finish up our gym time!

Learning Acceptance and Starting Over
Hey y’all it has been a while,
My term at Uni has just started, so that is why I have not been posting. Also fun fact is that so many of the students in my major/ cohort have kids who have been sick, which is why on day 4 of the term I already have the start of a head cold. But this post really isn’t about that.
I have been struggling with my body positivity through my whole weight loss journey. I want to love and accept my body as is, and literally be like f off to anyone who says different. However, I also know for my overall health and wellness that I need to lose some weight and get into better shape for me to do the activities I want to do in the future. I am just frustrated with myself for being frustrated with my body. I think a larger part of this has also been with the fact that I have weighed myself recently (I haven’t weighed since the beginning-ish of December) and found out that I had gained back something like 20lbs. I also went up like 3% in muscle mass (which equates to like an extra 8lbs), so it isn’t all just gaining random weight back. I know that during December I wasn’t as active and didn’t watch my marcos/calories closely, so that could be a huge part of it. Though, I am still super frustrated to have gained that random 12lbs, especially after I bought new clothes which are now a little too tight. Anyways, that is my little update/vent about what’s going on with me. If anyone has any advice or motivation that has helped them please share with me!
I have gotten back into meal prepping and have spent my day making my lunch (Avocado Kale Salad with other veggies) and my dinner (Sauteed Broccoli with spicy pork) as seen above, plus a whole array of different meals. I also instead of going to cycle today decided to bake some traditional Danish cookies and some of my grandmother’s Scottish Shortbread cookies for my roommate and other half to enjoy.
I have been frustrated with how things have been going this past month of so, but it can only get better! I have plateaued in my weight loss right around 236-240lbs (depending on the day) and have been super busy between finishing university and working. I am going to finish up this term strong though!
