#queer corner

Every time we’ve been in Adelaide in the last three years we’ve had some kind of homophobic street encounter, but last night… last night a guy yelled “fags!!!” out of a car window while we were walking behind two middle class middle aged straight white couples, and we had just turned off into a convenience shop. So, from the perspective of these straight people: somebody yelled fags in their direction, they turned around, they were the only people there. Incredible to reflect on what went on in their minds after this

The Queers are Coming

So me and my friends have this corner we hang out in at school before the bell rings and during break. One day last year, I was talking to Stefanie, and I referred to it as Queer Corner, because everyone in the group is at least a little queer. By the end of that year, all my friends called it Queer Corner, and I figured that would be the end of it. Like I didn't expect anyone outside of our clique to call it that. Now basically everyone in the school calls it Queer Corner. Like I even heard a freshman (who has been here two weeks) tell another to "stay away from Queer Corner."
