Today in Padmania: my one week Padmé project is done!!! Entirely made from things around my house (the buckle and brooch, were 3D printed by a friend—though technically they were lying around waiting to be dremeled, sanded, and painted). . . Overall I’m really pleased with how this look turned out, considering I couldn’t just wander out to the craft store to get supplies as needed. The harness and boots will need to be replaced, the harness with darker leather and the boots should be dark brown suede. Haven’t made the belly yet either, but Padmé wears this outfit in Clone Wars before she’s pregnant, so I’ll probably make the Clone Wars accessories to go with this eventually. . . But for now I have to be okay with it because it’s what I’ve got! And I’m really pleased with how the top and leggings fit, they took quite a bit of drafting and fitting and editing to make this happen!! I’m really proud of it, and I’m so excited to have another Padmé outfit done before @ek_johnston ‘s Queen’s Peril comes out!! “What if the democracy we thought we were serving no longer exists, and the Republic has become the very evil we have been fighting to destroy?” -Padmé ✨ It’s the 40th anniversary of my fave Star Wars movie, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, but my #ootd is inspired by my fave of the prequel trilogy, REVENGE OF THE SITH, which celebrated its 15th anniversary earlier this week. Padmé plays a much smaller role in Ep 3 than she did in the other prequels, but her significance in the Skywalker Saga can’t be overstated. Other than being the mother of the most important twins in the galaxy, she was in some ways the mother of the Rebellion, and it sucks her subplot re: the early foundations of the Rebel Alliance ended up on the cutting room floor for ROTS.
