She kind of looks ready to cry, but that could also just be regular, dramatic Drew. "Those earrings you made me? I lost one of them," And she is Very Distraught about it: those were one of her favourite pairs. "I don't even know where it could've GONE. I'm so sorryâ"
"Oh, um, the-- the dangly ones?â She tried to think of the pair. Being unsure how to flirt, Nyssa had a tendency to make things for Drew. Hair clips, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, jewelry that doubled as hidden weapons, curling irons, whatever she asked for. Whatever she wanted. Poor, awkward Nyssa couldnât tell Drew with her words how she felt, and so she showered the Aphrodite girl in handmade gifts.Â
âItâs alright, really. Earrings are easy to lose, Iâm sure.â Sheâs not sure, actually. She doesnât have any piercings whatsoever. But theyâre awfully tiny, werenât they? In Drewâs assortment of tiny pieces of jewelry, itâs understandable that one of them would go missing.Â
âItâs no problem, really--â Nyssa tried to assure the distraught half-blood. If she cried, sheâd mess up her makeup, and then sheâd cry more; itâd be a vicious cycle that Nyssa had witnessed before.Â
She wondered if Hephaestus made gifts for Aphrodite in this same way. Unsure to use his words to woo her, in love but unable to appear sexy or beautiful, and only having his hands to create. Did he shower her in presents the way Nyssa did for Drew? Did it work?
âIf you can bring me the one that hasnât gone missing, I can remake it. Donât worry âbout it.â The demigod offered what she hoped was a friendly smile, as compared to what Leo called her âpassive-aggressive resting bitch face.â
