I had cancer when I was 14 and already had my cats for a year.
My doctor told me that I can keep my cats because my immune system is already used to them. I just can’t scoop their litter box or get new pets.
I am not sure how your immune system is and what kind of treatment you are getting but consult your doctor first!
If your doctor gives the go ahead, you can look at hypoallergenic cats. That might help his allergies.

I've started using bakeable clay and wire as my mediums. The wire is a good intro into the industrial end of sculpting, you might have to have someone teach you to weld from there
the wire idea is a really good one, though. i’m not much a fan of clay because its texture weirds me out on my hands for some reason, but i could definitely get into wire sculpture and go from there. my dad can weld and i think has an arc welder? i’d have to make the journey to go bug him about it though...i might do that...
