Some very close family friends of mine lost their home in the fires - I was so upset. I was sitting on my couch feeling completely useless…so I just got up and decided I had to do something! It started with just a BBQ for evacuees but thanks to the amazing support of the community it has grown into a full scale relief centre here at the showgrounds. Our volunteers have been working hard and are pretty exhausted, but when we hear the terrifying stories from evacuees, we know it’s all worthwhile. We don’t know what’s coming or what we are going to need next, so continued support from everyone is very much appreciated.
