hey so i wanted to contribute to the humans are space orcs tag with this idea. What if humans are the only aliens to ever evolve to be completely bipedal. like other species can stand on two legs to reach higher places or operate machinery but humans are the only ones who walk around on two legs and this just confuses aliens when they meet us.
That’s a really interesting idea - society would probably be pretty different in quadrepedal (or otherwise) species, it’d be very cool to compare humanity’s growth to theirs! That being said, there’d probably be a lot of confusion on both sides as to how things they had in common (Like clothing) worked.I’ll admit, the first thing I thought when I saw this ask was “Would other species think of humanity as uncouth or unhygenic because they didn’t wear gloves all the time? Assuming they had ‘hands’ with opposable thumbs similar to humans, or something that they used for both manipulating objects and moving about.”Then again, maybe other species have three or more sets of limbs, like centaurs, instead. They’d probably find it incredible that humans can even stand upright, I suspect!
