Genre 7: myth, legend, tall tale Partner: Celia Oleshansky We choose to do a myth to reflect from the reading because it is a creative way to show our knowledge and previous learning from the book. We used things that we learned from the reading and incorporated them in a creative way. For example, in the reading Bruiser was born with being able to take away his loved ones pain. However, in our myth we decided to come up with a unique way like having a witch cast a spell on Bruiser to be able to take away Brontes pain. Also, in the reading the quote, "guard your heart," really touched us and was important in the book. This shows out of the box thinking because instead of just going along with how the book told the story, we gave it a twist and recreated the story in a completely different way. It also shows critical thinking because it really required us to go deep and use our imagination to re-tell the story.

1. Survivor: Brew survives in the end of the book even after giving up his life for Brontë 2. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger: Brew is alive and is stronger than ever coming back from death 3. Magic(B.O.B): Brew is magic 4. Oh oh it's magic: Brew is magic 5. Abracadabra(Steve Miller Band): Brew can pretty much say, "abracadabra" and take away pain 6. Magic(The Cars): brew is magic 7. Never gonna give you up: Brew was willing to risk his life and give it up to save Brontë because he couldn't give her up This shows out of the box thinking because it is all about Brew. The CD is called "Battle Scars" because of all of the pain brew has taken that can scar him. The songs are all about Brew, his power, and how he came back from death

My partner and I chose to do a how-to-manual. We wanted to do something not to easy but not to hard at the end of the year. We think it is important to know how to use CPR because it can save lives. We chose this because when brontë fell in the pool she was on conscious and underwater. So that made my partner and I think why did they have to electrically charge her why didn't they use MOUTH TO MOUTH CPR ? So we thought its probably because they didn't know or they just didn't think about it so we decided to make a guide which everyone could use to know how to do CPR. (mouth to mouth)

Genre 7: Eulogy I chose to do a eulogy because I felt like Brew did suffer a death of his incredible abilities. The day he almost drowned, Bronte and Tennyson realized how much he sacrificed for them. They both made a decision that day to take their pain back and it was like they allowed a part of Brew to die. The day he came out of the coma was like he became reborn and it was his first day of his new life to be free of other people's pain and sadness. I wrote the eulogy as if Tennyson and Bronte were paying tribute to what Brewster did for them.

Hi Tennyson, I'm sorry it had to come to this , but we're through. I saw the way you bashed Ozzy after school and I don't think that's right. I guess I needed someone different. Maybe we were getting into too much of a routine. I'm so sorry I couldn't tell you sooner. You're really nice and I hope we can still be friends. All I can say now is, I'm sorry. I've liked Ozzy from before and started going out with him a few months ago. I know it was wrong but he just looked so adorable the way he always wins his races. His poses on the podium are just the cutest! I almost cried the first time I saw one. Anyway, I'm sorry that it had to end like this, but Ozzy just doesn't beat up on people like you do and I think he is so much cuter. I sure you'll get a new girlfriend soon. -Katrina This shows out of the box thinking because it is from a supporting character's point of view. The supporting character hurt the main character instead of helping him. This is an example of something we think should have been included into the story and we wrote it to share with the reader.

Hoyt Rawlins (April 20th, 2013) Hoyt Rawlins, a hard working man, an outstanding citizen, a proud resident of Kansas. He an ex-wife and a family. He resided with his two nephews, Brewster and Cody Rawlins. Hoyt was an experienced construction worker for the city of Topeka. His cause of death was by stroke. He will be remembered as a father to Brewster and Cody Rawlins forever. He died at the age of 43. There will be no funeral held due to low budgets. This is outside the box thinking because we were showing uncle Hoyt as a role model. We made him sound like a normal man and like someone had liked him . This is ironic because no one in the story liked him because he beats his "children."

This week my partner and I chose to do a Gossip Article. This was not a hard decision to make being that there was a huge fight that went out. And knowing teenagers they will choose sides and gossip on who could have started it. So we based the gossip article on choosing sides between Ozzy and Tennyson. We also chose this because we felt that we saw a huge change in Tennyson. For example the reason he stood up to Ozzy is for Brew, so it shows that Tennyson cares for someone, and he won't care about his image.
