You started 26 QLs this year and finished 9 with 2 still ongoing and 5 on pause. Thanks to your beef with Cdramas this year you had more time to check out currently airing QLs so that's a new personal record!
Although you watched QLs from 5 different countries, you checked out the most from Japan and finished the most from China (welcome back babe—no one does angst and toxicity as deliciously as you do).
Your character of the year was a tie between The Summer Hikaru Died's Tsujinaka Yoshiki (pure thoughts) and Love Begins in the World of If's Ogami Seiji (significantly less pure thoughts)! You were this 👌 close to eating them.
(And special shoutout to ABO Desire's Gao Tu whose pregnancy you diligently followed without watching one episode.)
GIF by tamaki-ako
Your favorite show was The Summer Hikaru Died. You kept thinking about it all year and it just might have cracked your Top 10 favorite shows of all time list.
Your favorite QL trope was the quintessential Cdrama neck/jaw grab, as seen in Revenged Love, Trapped in Osaka, ABO Desire, and Kill to Love!
Another of your favorite shows from this year was Love Begins in the World of If. It's only halfway done but it's already made you feel shrimp emotions AND positively feral.
You didn't read/write QL fanfiction this year but the amount of meta you're writing about such a short show is concerning.
The soundtrack you listened to the most was from Shine: The Series. The good vibes of Slot Machine’s "Am I in Love" on repeat got you through a difficult summer.
Your favorite OTP (and the actors playing them) was hands-down Revenged Love's Wu Suowei (played by Zi Yu) and Chi Cheng (played by Tian Xuning). There was just something about these actors' sizzling chemistry and the evenly matched unhinged toxicity of their characters that made you believe in romance again...
(And you're still not over that nose nuzzle.)
You have no idea what's coming out in 2026 but you're hoping for the Chinese BL Renaissance to continue with its gloriously toxic pairings and for S. Korea to recapture the magic of 2022 and 2024 (you unfortunately only enjoyed one new KQL this year and want more dammit).
Here's to another year and may Tumblr experience another amazing fandom frenzy like this year’s Revenged Love to distract us from the world.
-------
I think anyone I'd normally tag has already done this or has been tagged but if you haven’t consider yourself tagged 🥳
I've been steadily hacking away at this post since January, updating it with all the dramas I've been watching this year. There are some on this list I haven't yet finished due to airing and others are at various stages of completion, but most of them have been consumed and enjoyed.
Other than the list, I've made a little 'Drama Wrapped' under the cut! Actually I had written like paragraphs justifying my choices but as the end of the near draws closer, my brain has gone to absolute mush. Either way, this is a post for me and anyone interested in reading it 🥹 beautiful mutuals, cannot wait to see what you come up with if you've done a Wrapped too!
Dramas I watched this year (continuing from 2024 and/or starting in 2025)

I'm putting them all under here because it's MASSIVE! 🤣
Best crier goes to...
In - My Magic Prophecy!
There were sooooo many good criers this year but I have to give it to my boy In. Baby was in tears like every episode and for good fucking reason too. He wasn't living with grief, grief was living with him and boy did we see it. It wasn't just that he lost his parents, it's that he could see it all happening and couldn't do anything to stop it. He could see so many things that he couldn't prevent, rendering him even more helpless than he already felt. In's imposed self-isolation and not allowing others to get close to him just added to his suffering. I related to his vulnerability and his fear, and I truly think that Sea did a fanTASTIC job portraying this character.
Sorn and Jun - My Stubborn!
The question is... which one? lol. Look, Sorn and Jun brought the heat many many many many many times in the series. The first NC scene in the special ep is one of my favourites which is why I've included it here (though the stairwell NC scene in episode 12 is one I love just as much). I have to give props to them for turning it out like every single episode. Cannot say any two were the same? As far as I remember anyway. And even if they were some repeats, it doesn't take away from their number one placement for me.
Runner up:
JinAkin - Top Form!
The Honey Scene is too iconic not to include it here as well. For me, this one was brought to life because of the filming - the colour they used, the angles, the shoots, and the music in the background all blended together so nicely to make a cohesive, steamy scene between Jin and Akin.
Khemjira episode 9!
This was one of the most distressing episodes of anything I've ever watched. Ramphueng's backstory was fucked up. She didn't deserve what happened to her, and after viewing this ep I completely understand why she had so much hatred for Khem's family line. We see the humanity beneath all the "evil" and realise that she's a hurt, mourning mother, who was wronged and tortured to death, based on lies about her actions. Other than Ramphueng's story, the other deaths that occur and Khem deciding to leave also make this a tear-jerker. It ripped my heart out, and deserves this spot on my wrap-up.
Hua Yong - ABO Desire!
Look there were a LOT of red flags this year (and a LOT came from Chinese BL's [looking at you Revenged Love and To My Shore!!!]) but Hua Yong is another shade! Deadliest babygirl to ever walk the Earth, and the cutest demon of all time! He's a powerful Enigma posing as a dainty little helpless omega to win the heart of the man of his dreams, and can rip you into shreds with barely any effort at all. I give him the reddest flag award because I have to acknowledge his freak when it came to stalking Sheng Shaoyou for years and manipulating him when they met (but you know what??? Sheng Shaoyou loves his freak just as much as we do 🤣).
Thame - Thamepo!
I give this for the double meaning. Green flag because he was an absolute sweetheart who only wanted the best for his bandmates, but also green because baby is new relationships 🥹 But for real, what truly cemented Thame being a green flag is when he memorised Po's number just so that they could talk to each other. Utterly romantic and attentive. Sweet boy, you deserve this spot.
Alan and Jeff - Pit Babe 2!
Look.
Look.
Look.
I know. I'm with you. They butchered our series and our boy Alan, but I'm an AlanJeff girlie and a sappy romantic and LOVED their proposal scene 😭 Would I have preferred the conditions to be different? Sure. Were the events prior to this controversial? Absolutely. But, do my faves get a beautiful proposal scene as the sun is setting and get to love each other for the rest of their lives??? Yes. And that's what counts??? (as well as fix-it fics 🥲). Also, you know this wasn't popular because their proposal doesn't show up in the top posts for them on Tumblr klsjflksd
FadelStyle - The Heart Killers!
Mmmmm yes. Serious, deadly, mysterious hitman posing as a restaurant owner meets the most free spirited, wild, tornado of a mechanic who flirts his way into to his heart. This dynamic is fire 👌 And you know what? These two? Freak for freak. Must make special mention of Fadel taking Style on a date to the grave he dug for himself, and Style giving Fadel a list of all his relatives as collateral to prove his devotion. Unhinged!! Brilliant!! More of this please!!!!
I also want to acknowledge another favourite couple that hits my personal tastes so well. I'll consider them a runner up in this category:
ThunKeen - Knock Out!
I really enjoyed Knock Out as a series. Not only was the acting top notch, but the plot was really really good, and I adore the way Thun and Keen got together. Keen is a character you just want to support - I felt his fire, his drive, his determination, and I was cheering him on throughout the series even if he wasn't the one in the ring. I do also love Thun's jealousy over Keen, which later becomes just justifiable protectiveness. I also like how they started in an almost enemies-to-lovers trope, even if they weren't quite enemies and more just two people who didn't get along to becoming madly in love. Yeah, I have to acknowledge this couple here!
I could honestly list a lot more in this category but I'm going to limit myself to two skfjlskf
CharnJet - Khemjira!
These two. Oh my god. First of all, I do think Jet is one of my all time favourite characters this year, so I have to acknowledge that. But he and Charn together are so so so great. Jet is so spicy and feisty and protective of the people he loves and cares about, but he can become all mushy and smiley and shy when it's his turn to receive some of that love. Charn on the other hand is the quiet kind of strength - he's willing to learn and wants to do anything to help his friends. They're a wonderful balance, and I love their relationship.
and...
Shen Wenlang x Gao Tu - ABO Desire!
I have to scream my insanity over this pairing. I would have loved to give them number one but their relationship was better explored in the novels and we didn't really get to see it manifest in the show. Unlike CharnJet, we didn't see their journey through til the end in the series in the way we wanted BUT, I want to put them here, because I'm genuinely crazy over them and their ANGST and Wenlang's STUPIDITY and Gao Tu just BREAKING MY HEART and UGH GOD I LOVE THEM. I wish their ending from the novel (which I also devoured this year) was also shown in the series.
Best Kiss (and cutest couple imo sklfjskd) goes too...
JohanNorth - Fourever You!
Yes, this aired in 2024 BUT the last ep was in January of this year so I'm going to count it; however, since most of the show did air last year, I'm going to limit myself when it comes to this pairing even though I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. There are so many great kisses to pick from, but the one below where North is being pulled by his tie is just 👌 I want to shine some light on other iconic JohanNorth moves, like Johan's fingers curling into North's hair when they kiss and ofc Johan's hand on North's neck - but this one is just so great. I also love the context of the episode and how this ended up happening!
Stuckling by EarthMix - Ossan's Love Thailand!
On. Re. Peat.
There were a lot of really great songs this year and some shows had some OST's that were perfectly emotional and matched the energy of the drama, but I can't lie when I say this was played on and on and on on my Spotify earlier in the year. I'd play it in my car to and from work, at the gym, on my walk, on the computer as I wrote - it's just so fun and silly and so very suited for EarthMix!
Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu - Revenged Love!
Siri play Inna More Than Friends
Goddddddddd I was obsessed with this show and I was obsessed with CC and GCY! I love their friendship so much! All of their interactions from the beginning of the series when they weren't getting along to the end when they were basically just invading each other's space was so perfect. I also love how it was so clear that they cared about each other even when they were arguing. Their friendship runs deep, and I'm glad we got to see how it progressed in the series.
Hua Yong and Shen Wenlang - ABO Desire!
Look. At. Them. Hua Yong drove Shen Wenlang absolutely batshit crazy the entire series and it was hilarious to watch. Shen Wenlang was my favourite idiot of the year, and I think he's the favourite idiot of Hua Yong's life. And despite the fact that Shen Wenlang knows that Hua Yong is wild, he stuck around long enough to be the godfather of Hua Sheng. That's friendship and dedication right there!
Tony - Pit Babe 2!
It had to be him. Man comes back from the dead to fuck shit up even more than the first season, and this time he truly has no chill. He didn't come to play he came to win. I'm not going to credit him with all the smarts - some characters made some questionable choices that made it very easy for Tony to have the upper hand - but he is the mastermind behind the evil in this show. Also? The hair? Evil never looked so damn good.
Yut - Knock out!
Tony was the best villain for me, but my favourite was Yut from Knock Out. He was fucking unhinged and persistent and a weasel and just ksjfklsdjflks a GREAT combination for an antagonist. Lowkey, that angsty part of me wanted to see a reality where he won and took Keen for himself - but that's where the heavily tagged fanfic comes in 🤭
Jeff - Pit Babe 2!
Baby boy. Best boy. I will always love you. No matter how crazy Pit Babe 2 was, the one consistent thing was our darling Jeff. He's just too good. I love him as a character. I love his heart and how much he cares for his family. He gets bonus points for ironically being the more mature one in his relationship and because he's so good for whump (lkasfjkls sorry to say it but it's true) 😭
Ciar - Revamp!
Ciar was such a great time! He had rebellious youthful energy and was a great little emo with attitude, marching to the beat of his own drum and exasperating everyone around him. He cares about his family so much, you can absolutely tell that he's a sweetheart beneath that hardened exterior, and he came in so clutch multiple times in the series. I love his one-sided rivalry with Punn, too 🤣
Yotha and Faifa - Perfect 10 Liners!
As individual characters, Yotha and Faifa are great. Whenever they interact as siblings, they steal the dang show! Faifa being the quintessential younger brother terrorising our middle child syndrome Yotha was so perfect, and a lot of their interactions together had me laughing. I do also love their moments of vulnerability, and even when they were arguing too - it felt like a real family, showing us the good and the bad and the complexity of sibling relationships.
Prince - I'm The Most Beautiful Count!
GOD he was hilarious. Probably the best person to have isekai'd back into the past. He was lost for a LOT of the time but his reactions to everything going on around him were just so good. He was also his true authentic self and it was refreshing to see such a strong and proud character. I think he had a good balance of serious moments as well, but his funny moments had me snorting! Nut's portrayal of him was excellent. Truly, I can't think of anyone else who could say that role as hard as him!
SuriyaPhopthorn - Me and Who!
I love a good manhandle. Suriya did it a couple of times in the series, but the one in the last episode (the one in the gif below) takes the damn cake.
Thanet - The Wicked Game!
This guy was the fucking worst. All of his children are fucked up because of him. He had no issues pitting his children against each other, no issues threatening to shoot his own son, didn't say shit when his wife fucking murdered the mother of his other child - all he cared about was his damn company. Props to the actor - he brought that man to life on screen so well!
Special category: Izzy ruined my life by encouraging me to watch...
Until We Meet Again and Between Us!
I cried so. freaking. much. And even though these shows didn't air this year, I was so obsessed with them. Until We Meet Again had me smiling in one scene and then straight up sobbing in the next. I remember Between Us airing when I first started watching BL, and I'm kicking myself for not exploring it earlier because I loved every moment of it. Both shows were so great - thank you Izzy for the recommendations!! (Do I think you for the tears I shed too tho???) 😭
I can't let the year end without talking about how great Me and Thee is. Thee is hilarious and I love that he's a little delulu 🤣 Can't add anymore images but sklfjkalsfjs yeah love him
Nobody tagged me, but I saw these floating around and thought they were fun!
you started (or continued) 123 QLs this year and finished 89 of them. You dropped 17 series and are currently watching or intending to finish another 17.
although you watched QLs from 7 different countries, you watched the most from Thailand.
your character of the year was Shao Peng from See Your Love! you were this 👌 close to eating them.
your favorite show was probably Top Form. you kept thinking about it all year.
your favorite ql trope was leashes and collars, as seen most spectacularly in The Next Prince, but also in a surprising number of other shows this year!
you read/wrote the most fanfiction about nobody. pretty uninterested in the concept, though you may try an oblique version of it this year in your writing to see how it feels!
another of your favorite shows from this year was Clairebell. it made you feel shrimp emotions.
the soundtrack you listened to the most was none of them. not at all a fan of the music in QLs! 😬
your favorite actor/acting pair was Chi Cheng & Wu Suowei. there was just something about them...
you are looking forward to Knot, Cherm Chey, Lovers & Gangsters, You Maniac, Moonshadow, and YOUR DEAR DADDY that will be coming out in 2026 (hopefully).
here's to another year!
I think everyone I know already did theirs, but if not, please play and tag the template/game creator @loveable-sea-lemon

(I absolutely meant to save this as a draft and accidentally posted instead so if everyone could pretend that didn't happen and we all had normal notifications, it would be nice, thank you 😐)
You watched 22 qls this year (and 11 from other years) that's about 130 hours! (Of content from 2023 only!)
(He's talking about my attempts at maths)
You primarily watched bls from Thailand (50%)
You spent way too much time thinking about these characters: Kiyoi Sou, Li Ming, and Mork. (My emo kings!! They're all a lil angsty and clearly my tastes have not developed since 2005. Am I moooore than you bargained for yet?)
(Obsessed, obsessed, chewing, biting, crying)
Your favorite show was Utsukushii Kare. You kept thinking about it all year. (This was THE hyperfixation for the first half of my year, but the fandom was so so small. I truly am so so in love with them and I wish more people watched them and understood them. Like I do. They're mine.)
Your overall bl mood was dramatic.
You read the most fanfiction about Utsukushii Kare. Like way too much. (According to my ao3, apparently. Good fic about them is so hard to find. Most fanfic I read this year has actually been about shows from 2021/2022)
Another of your favorites from this year was JokeZo. they captivated your gay little heart. (This show is a certified mess, but brought me a truly unexpected amount of comfort. Their chemistry was so so good and I loved Zo's storyline in particular. Love and communication and healing, what more could a 90's gay ask for?)
The soundtracks you listened to the most were [the entire About Youth soundtrack is in my spotify top tracks. But that drama is not from this year] Your World, My World (Our Skyy 2) and Better Days (Last Twilight). It made you feel really normal.
Your favorite acting pair was JimmySea. There was just something so mesmerizing about them... (breathing heavily in Last Twilight feelings)
Bonus shoutout to: ✨️her✨️
