Sorry for the super late reply, but… wow! I never actually thought that far ahead! Or even about the Lost Light part of this AU, to be honest 😅 I didn’t even have a clear ending planned after the parts I’ve already posted — and thinking that far into the future just wasn’t on my radar at all. But now I can’t stop thinking about it — I love this idea 🤩

And yeah, now that I think about it, it wouldn’t just be the ex-‘cons who had no clue about Rodimus’ family — most of the crew probably wouldn’t know either 🤔 Ultra Magnus definitely would. Rung too, but he’d never show that he knew anything. Maybe a couple of bots who were stationed at the same base where little Roddy grew up — like Hound and Mirage. Though in their case, they’d probably only know that Ratchet was Rodimus’ sire. The Drift part? Totally off their radar 😏

The Roddy & Deadlock comic started as a spontaneous idea and wasn’t supposed to go beyond two chapters. But seeing how much everyone loved it, I couldn’t resist continuing and expanding it

I plan to bring this story to a natural point with a few more chapters, though the ending will likely remain open. I’m also considering adding a couple of prequel chapters to explore the backstory further. However, that will probably be the conclusion for this bittersweet AU

After that, I’m looking forward to working on a happier version of their story—it won’t necessarily be easier, but definitely less tearful! 🥲

Originally, that nod from Ratchet was meant to be something like, “Thanks for calling me instead of causing a scene or interrogating everyone with the entire high command present” 😅 And Prowl, giving him an annoyed look in return, was—to everyone’s surprise—silent and didn’t take any action

But now, after your question, I think you might be onto something. Maybe Prowl does know… not the full truth that Deadlock is Roddy’s carrier, but enough pieces of the puzzle to have a hunch

When Ratchet returned after his long absence with little Roddy in tow, he stayed tight-lipped about the sparkling’s carrier. That silence led to some assumptions. Many believed Roddy’s carrier had passed or something tragic had happened. There were even rumors that Roddy might’ve been a foundling, though that theory eventually fell apart given the unmistakable sir-sparkling bond between him and Ratchet

I think, at some point, Prowl started noticing subtle signs—clues that Roddy’s carrier wasn’t an autobot, or even a neutral, but a decepticon. He might’ve had a few suspects in mind, but no definitive answer

Honestly, I didn’t expect my first comic — created on the fly without a fully planned plot — to be so well received. But I’m honestly thrilled that people are enjoying it! ✨️

The character designs are still a work in progress, especially Deadlock's design. I have a specific idea of him in my head, and I’m still working on refining it to get it just right

just imagine being rodimus, with drift and ratchet by your side but not knowing either are your parents. like, how would you feel if your third in command was the carrier you were separated from since you were a tiny kid? or your sire not telling you anything? i really feel bad for poor roddy...

Believe it or not, I actually hate sad or tragic stories… and yet I keep accidentally creating exactly those 🥲

But honestly, I feel like the real heartbreak would only hit Roddy if he ever found out the truth — not as something he’d be suffering from constantly. It’s easy to forget that he literally grew up in the middle of a war. And even though a lot of us (me included!) tend to romanticize some parts of it, it was still a horrible environment for a sparkling.

He was so, so young when he was separated from his carrier, and the time they spent together was short. It all happened ages ago, and his memories are extremely blurry. So at some point he just… accepted it and kept living his life.

And even his relationship with Ratchet — the one who actually raised him — changed over time. As Hot Rod got older, he ended up stationed at different Autobot outposts more and more, and the distance grew. Eventually he started calling Ratchet by name instead of “sire,” mostly so others wouldn’t get confused (since not many bots even knew Ratchet was his sire in the first place).

Hiya! Sorry for going quiet — studying is eating up pretty much all of my time right now, and I barely even manage simple little sketches for myself 😩 Everything else is fine though, no worries 💛

Also, we got our first snow a couple of days ago (Nov 19th), and seeing everything turn white suddenly made me want to draw something wintery. Nothing big or complicated — I just tweaked Rodimus’ and Drift’s winter looks from last year a bit 😎❄️

I’ve been a bit quiet lately because I just had my final university exam a few days ago… and it was hell. Our Ministry of Education decided it would be a brilliant idea to merge six completely different specializations (from the same faculty, but with totally different subjects) into a single final exam. So yeah… absolute chaos

Right now, I’m still anxiously waiting for the results — they’ll determine whether I actually get my diploma or not. That’s why I haven’t been posting any new drawings lately. Fingers crossed!

There’s also a not-so-easy trip home ahead of me, but I’ll do my best to slowly return with new art over the next few months… (unless I have to retake the exam 🥲)
