,The Genre of the track I have chosen to produce is called Darkwave". Darkwave is a sub genre combination of Gothic rock and New wave. Darkwave first rose to prominence in the 80's, and draws strong inspiration fro the styles of bands such as Joy Division, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees and, most popularly, The Cure.I have chosen to research and produce a track of this genre because I very much enjoy the style of this music and the bands that this genre draws most of its inspiration from I know the music of very well. Its main attributes revolve around the use of introspective, usually quite dark, lyrics. The songs of the genre most commonly have a slow, and on occasion, mid range tempo and make use of experimental sounds. The specific techniques that I will choose to research will be in the creation of experimental sound as well as the techniques involved in writing lyrics. Below are three tracks that I have used as reference tracks and I feel display all the techniques used in the production of Darkwave music as well as using them for reference on the techniques that I wish to focus on.
