Rei Todoroki found peace in the silence of this park. For many years she found herself venting here on the same night, every time causing the entire hospital to go into a panic when they couldn’t locate her. This time though...she didn’t know if she wanted to return to that cold lonely room. 

This was the place he liked to go...she could still see him. Happy bright teal orbs, glittering in the sun and snow....he had been happy here feeding the ducks. She’d watch him, his little hands reaching out to touch one on the head and giggling as he felt feather’s under his little fingers. 

Back...when they were happy. 

“....Happy birthday.” Rei whispered quietly, ignoring the tears now staining dark ebony lashes.

“It was raining and I was cold...” She shrugged, as though this was something she’d done many times. “It was so fancy too, I never went into a place like that before. Plus I got a really cute coat from it!” Toga giggled as she remembered the time spent in another girl’s bedroom, the plush bed, the pretty clothes. She’d taken hairpins too and a cute charm for her phone. “There wasn’t anyone home though.”

“Wouldn’t it be better to buy you one of those fancy creams for wrinkles? At least they smell nice.” She replied, clearly not helping the issue one bit, but not bothered by Dabi’s apparently horrid ankles either. It was kinda cute, in a way. “I saw them in the mall the other day. They’re expensive.”

It was so strange, to feel hands grabbing her own, and see herself holding on to those hands, and yet not feeling like it was herself that was doing it. Himiko felt like a stranger in her own body, and barely anything looked or felt real. Dabi made sense, but why or how they were where they were? Not so much. Her usual blush, her laughter, her smiles, her bubbly personality were all gone at the moment, and only a mildly confused and pained look remained, with her voice sounding much flatter than usual. 

It was like she had been forced under the mask again.
