Sword swallowing in Africa. Since sword swallowing has rarely if ever been performed in Africa before, African audiences have rarely seen it performed except on TV and the Internet and are shocked in amazement when they actually see it firsthand. It was an honor and a privilege for me to be the first to take the ancient art of sword swallowing to Africa and introduce it to audiences in Ghana (TEDxAccra 2016) and Uganda and Kenya (2018). This was filmed at Kampala West Festival Wankulukuku in Kampala Uganda in May 2018. Audiences in Africa aren’t used to seeing sword swallowing and they aren’t conditioned to respond with applause, so they often stare amazed in stunned silence with their mouths wide open (notice the silence when I swallow the sword) or reply with screams and high pitched trills (when pastor Collins removes the sword). I explain that what I do is not magic, but feats of skill to prove how awesome and amazing the human body is that God made, and that they too can do the impossible if they push past the limitations and boundaries of their minds and let God do the impossible in their lives. What an awesome honor and experience it was to introduce them to sword swallowing and the awesomeness of what God can do in their lives. . #haveswordwilltravel #pushingboundaries #pushinglimitations #doingtheimpossible #swallowingthesword #cuttingthroughfear #cuttingthrufear #impossibleisnotimpossible #swordswallower #danmeyer #swordswallowing #ghana #kampala #uganda #nairobi #kenya #africa #notmagic #notmagician @halfdan5 (at Wankulukuku Stadium)
