MUSEUM ini berada di kompleks Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Gadjah Mada. Yang berarti berada di sebelah barat Jalan Kaliurang. Museum yang sangat unik ini dimiliki dan dikembangkan oleh Fakultas Kedokteran, Kesehatan Masyarakat dan Keperawatan (FKKMK) dan menempati Lantai I Gedung T. Jacob. Berbeda dengan museum lainnya. Museum ini memiliki koleksi yang terkait dengan kehidupan masa purba. Di tempat ini, anda dapat menyaksikan fosil tanduk kerbau purba, gigi gajah purba, besaran tengkorak manusia purba berbagai jenis dengan ukuran sesuai dengan ketika masih hiduo jutaan tahun yang lalu. Seperti yang dikatakan oleh Dekan Fakultas Kedokteran, Kesehatan Masyarakat dan Keperawatan UGM, Prof. dr. Yodi Mahendradhata, M.Sc, Ph.D, FRSPH, ketika membuka kembali museum ini pascarenovasi, bahwa Museum Bio-Paleoantropologi merupakan tonggak penting yang merefleksikan dedikasi FK-KMK UGM dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan, terutama terkait dengan evolusi manusia. “Museum ini menjadi jembatan antara masa lalu dan masa depan yang bersatu untuk dapat memahami evolusi dan sejarah tubuh manusia,” jelas Prof. Yodi. Selain fosil museum Bio-Paleoantropologi artefak sejarah evolusi manusia, termasuk koleksi yang berhasil dipulangkan oleh Prof. Teuku Jacob, emeritus dalam bidang antropologi ragawi Universitas Gadjah Mada, dari Jerman, Belanda, dan Amerika Serikat. Museum ini menawarkan pemahaman komprehensif tentang evolusi manusia, dengan koleksi yang mencakup ribuan fosil hewan dan tumbuhan purba serta artefak yang menjadi sumber belajar penting bagi peneliti dan masyarakat. Selain Museum Bio-Palaeoantropologi, di kawasan ini terdapat pula Museum Anatomi. Museum Anatomi FK-KMK UGM menghadirkan detail peta tubuh manusia dengan tujuh bagian utama anatomi. Koleksi di museum ini memberikan wawasan visual tentang sistem tubuh, dari rangka hingga organ lainnya, serta perkembangan embriologi sejak tahap awal kehidupan. Dengan teknologi interaktif yang baru, pengunjung dapat mempelajari kompleksitas tubuh manusia secara lebih mendalam dan menarik. (****)
