ellinor and cullen do settle in ferelden! they live close to (but not exactly in) denerim, mostly due to the proximity to cullen’s siblings in the south reach and also ellinor’s love for the hustle and bustle of the city, so they’re not far from the countryside or the city itself. they have a nice small farm where cullen grows a vegetable garden and has chickens, and ellinor can ride to the market to get fish, meat, or other provisions. i also headcanon that sera returned to denerim, where she’s from, after the inquisition, so she and ellinor still see each other a lot. ellinor and cullen struggle at first adjusting to their post-inquisition life, but they do find peace and happiness eventually. they live with their horses, lady and fleet, and cullen’s mabari, tara, and ellinor’s cat, cat.

They go to Haven before the shriek encounter, so the context is such that he still has a rapidly fading hope that Tamlen might have survived somehow. After all, he survived, and he’s nothing special; whether his judgment is more faith or denial, it is a powerful thing either way. 

Honestly his initial response is just... dread. He is, for a moment, frozen, trying to process the sight, the voice he’s hearing. He’s always had a fair amount of wariness when it comes to spirits. He also gets a sense that he’s being manipulated by the vision, that it’s some ploy. Once he realizes that this isn’t really Tamlen he lashes out.

57. What’s the most chaotic thing they’ve done?

it depends who you ask on which day honestly. sometimes the answer is that she adopted several sewer animals and nursed them to health over the course of a few months. sometimes the answer is her invitation to the arishok to join her for family dinner and cards with just her and her one-eyed dog, Ghoulie. sometimes you can cite witness accounts from families walking along the wounded coast to watch the sunrise over the beach, just to stumble across her emerging alone from a cave at 4 am. it’s always changing
