Kaito can't fathom any logical reason for him to call to IV when he sees him passing by, and yet all the same his fingers lift and he hails him before cupping a hand over his mouth and swearing to himself. He thinks that perhaps it's some desire to make contact with the Arclight's again after what had happened during the WDC - actually, it's more accurate if he admits that IV is a gateway to Chris. He doesn't really care for IV; IV was cruel and had harmed Haruto. Hell, he'd enjoyed it - showing Kaito images of his screaming brother to break him during their duel.

It made him sick.

The feelings settle inside him and slip inside the void of disinterest that had started to take up the space between his ribs in recent weeks. It's not as if he intends to hold much of a conversation. IV is Chris's younger brother and his brother's could-be executioner (then, anyway) and that's as far as his knowledge extends beyond Chris's stories of bruised knees and bumped noses.

"The white and gold is still tacky." Damn. It's not what he means to say but the words that threaten on his tongue he swallows back into that same void. No need to make things worse by jumping straight to the details of how damn pissed off he was about IV harming Haruto. His hands slip into the pockets of his slacks (he's still getting used to them after years of leggings and bodysuits) and he tries to compose himself enough to make this hailing not look like a stupid mistake. He nearly asks about Chris - nearly. "...IV."
