Puppet Master AU

The doctor hugged the bowl as he spew bile from his body. And right behind him was Jameson, worriedly holding his long brown hair back and rubbing soothing circles on his back. It had been days since Henrik had started to feel sick, and Jameson couldn’t pin point where he had gotten it from. Is not like Henrik leaves the house…

Had he been giving him a stronger dosage than he intended to?

“J-Jamie..? My sto-stomach…” Henrik started weakly before resuming with retching whatever needed to be out of his body.

“{Dear, let me get you water. I-I will be right back.}” Jameson’s voice resonates quietly in Henrik’s mind, though that makes the doctor groan and shiver. Before Jameson can even pull away, a weak grip lands on his hand.

“T-Take me… Hospital…”

Blood drains from his face at the request. No, the hospital was off the table. They’ll find out he has been giving Henrik tranquilizers and drugging him. They can’t possibly blame him for it, right? Henrik is always working… never taking care of himself, and who better to take care of the doctor than Jameson himself?

“{Come now, I can take perfect care of you. J-Just let me get the medicine—}” Jameson stammers, caressing Henrik’s sweaty hair in comfort. Or was that to ease the anxiety to have to listen to what he was requesting.

“Jamie—“ Henrik finally turns towards the dapper. Blood dribbled from the corner of his mouth, his face lost all color and could be paler and the white walls of the bathroom they found themselves in. It definitely looked like Henrik wasn’t getting any better, and Jameson could only feel guilt… “—please…” A sob broke out, the Please being enough to make Jameson comply. His grip tightens over Henrik’s hand, Jameson won’t let anyone take Henrik from him… he’ll get rid of them if he has to.

“{A-Alright, my dear. We’ll go to the hospital. I’ll wake Chase up and have him drive us there.}”

Puppet Master AU

“{You have a lot of nerve to show yourself in my property.}” Jameson signs, sapphire eyes coldly glaring down at the hero. He must admit, he was surprised to see Jackie had made it this far into the forest, even more surprising that he reached his house. However, satisfaction twinkles in his eyes when he notices the many cuts covering his arms and face.

“I’m not here to fight, Jameson. I just wanna talk.” Jackie answers.

Jameson tsks in annoyance, though he gestures for Jackie to go on before crossing his arms above his chest. His fingers drum against his arm, the subtle movement creating thin strings above the branches. Just in case the hero had any funny ideas.

“I-I know you’re suffering. I know you’ve suffered, and you had to endure it by yourself. And I’m sorry… I’m sorry I didn’t notice.” Jackie takes a step forward. “Maybe we can start over, and you and Henrik…”

“{No.}” Jameson cut the hero off, “{You don’t get to come to my home and try to pretend that you understand me. I know why you’re here. You’re here to take Henrik.}”

The hero stayed quiet, the facade dissolving. Worry shifts into a harsh expression, and his hands ball into fists. “You’re keeping Henrik captive! This doesn’t make you any different from Anti, you are hurting him!”

“{You dare compare me to that disgusting vermin!}” Jameson bares his teeth, rage slowly building up in his chest. His eyes soon glow a royal blue, and thin, Royal strings snake and wrap around the hero, trapping him in place. The dapper takes collected steps towards the trapped hero, his fingers take a tight, bruising grip to Jackie’s jaw and keeps his face towards him. “{I am hurting Henrik? I am protecting him, unlike you! You who lets him work to the bone, you who is so careless that lets him worry and put your needs over his!}”

Jameson practically yells in Jackie’s mind. The more his emotions showed the tighter the strings around Jackie got. “{Ever since I took him under my care he has never been better. I know what he needs, and you are not it.}”

“Jameson… he needs his family.” Jackie mentions through clenched teeth, and Jameson can only stare at him with hate. He should’ve killed him when he got the chance, but he was just waiting for his little experiment to kick in. A smile then spreads across his face, and he chuckles silently. The strings then dissolve into thin air, setting the hero free. At the moment, Jackie looked confused and suspicious, but all Jameson did was gesture him to go ahead.

Jackie didn’t think twice and ran towards the front porch. However, the hero comes crashing hard to the ground. His legs had grown numb, and so did the rest of his limbs. Soon a shadow looms over the fallen hero, the dapper stepping on the hero’s back. Royal blue strings come back to life ones more, flowing from the dapper’s fingertips and wrapping around the hero’s limp body and soon he’s lifted into the air so he could face Jameson once more.

“{You shouldn’t have come here. Not only my strings are strong enough to slice your flesh, but also are laced with a paralytic drug. And you idiotically got yourself cut over and over trying to get here. But don’t worry, it’ll wear off… but just to be sure you don’t do anything stupid…}” Jameson takes out his broken pocket watch, the item swaying softly from its silver chain as he signs. “{I must make sure that you are aware… no one’s coming for you.}”

Puppet Master AU

“{What on earth were you thinking of letting Jackie take Henrik?!}” If Jameson had his voice he’d be yelling his mind out, cursing for that lousy father for even breathing. This was bad, this was extremely bad. How could he be so careless! The dapper paced back and forth, thinking of what to do. Well, he didn’t have to give it too much of a thought, Jameson knew this was Chase’s last strike and there would be some blood spilling once he got Henrik back.

“I-I didn’t think it was a big deal.” Chase said in a trembling voice, though it earned a harsh glare from almost glowing sapphire eyes. The stare made the father shrink even further, his back pressing against the corner of the hallway. “J-Jackie seemed trustworthy! H-He even apologized to Henrik! It might even be good f-for him to g-go out—!”

“{I am the only one that Henrik needs!}” Jameson signed with force, faint royal blue strains shoot from his fingers and snake with speed towards Chase. The threads slice Chase’s skin as they wrap around his limbs, the father screaming in panic while being lift and pin against the wall. “{You’ve ruined everything!}”

Fear struck ceruleans stare at Jameson before drifting to the familiar strings. He tried to move but that only made the thread slice deeper into his flesh, blood now dripping from the wounds. “James— Agh! Please! Stop, it hurts!”

Jameson took slow steps towards the father, his free hand taking a hold of his jaw to fixate his eyes on him. Not in the time Chase had known he had seen so much anger and hatred, it almost looked like he was staring at Anti… the thought alone send him in a spiral of panic, and all he wanted was to get away. But the more Chase struggled to move, the tighter the strings became. “{I should’ve gotten rid of you the moment you stepped in my home. I should’ve killed you the first time you crossed me.}” Jameson growled in Chase’s mind. “{You lived because Henrik cared for you, but I am not allowing a disgusting mutt like you waste my time!}”

Tears are soon to roll down the father’s cheeks, his head shaking no. “D-Don’t kill me— Please… PLEASE! M-My children!” Chase yelled hysterically. “I-I’ll do anything! I’ll—“

“{I gave you far too many chances to prove yourself worthy, and all you’ve shown is how right I am to despise all of you—}”

“I-If I die, Henrik will never forgive you!” Chase suddenly shouts. The words struck the dapper, his grip on Chase’s jaw faltering until his hand drops. Henrik… hating him…? No, he couldn’t— Henrik loves him. He must understand the reasons why he had to do everything up to know. All to protect him. “He’ll find out— He’ll hate yo-you.”

No… His heartbeat increases the more he thinks about it. The thought of Henrik looking at him with fear. In disgust. Jameson can’t let that happen. He won’t let that happen— Fearful sapphires soon return to their normal, kind ones. He offers a smile to Chase, the strings soon dissolving in thin air and letting the father fall with a harsh thump. “{I must admit… you have been quite a handful.}” Jameson signs as he crouched in front of Chase, his hand now gently tapping his cheek as if he just finished telling a joke. “{You’ve risked too much, and yet I’m going to let you live. Only because it would cause much distress in Henrik. However-}

In a blink of an eye Chase was lift in the air once more and thrown into a dark room. His back hit the ground, knocking the wind out of him. He wanted to scramble up but his injured limbs made him fall on his side. His eyes look at Jameson’s figure, the light obscuring his features except for those vibrant sapphire eyes. The resemblance was too much, it made the father’s stomach churn. “{This should be enough punishment of what’s to come if you speak of this encounter.}” Jameson signs. “{This room… resembles of one of the many horrors I went through while under Antisepticeye’s care.}” His hands tremble as the memory resurfaced, his hand almost trailing up his throat but he stops himself. He had to go and find Henrik. “{No one will hear you scream, not even yourself— If you do not sink into madness while in here then… well, we shall see.}”

Puppet Master AU

“Tsk- Get up.” The demon growled impatiently while nudging the dapper with his boot, though no movement or reaction was given after the action. That only irritated the demon. “I said— Get. Up.” Anti only kicked harder, a strangled whimper slipping the dapper’s lips as he rolled over.

“Such a waste— No wonder they forgot about you. Useless little thing.” The demon taunts before chuckling. “Forgotten like the insignificant thing you are.” Anti tsks once more, this time with pure annoyance. His patience grew thin by each passing second, and Jameson knew that. Red strings come to life, flowing like snakes from the demon’s fingertips. “How cruel of those egos to leave you with me. It’s funny— hilarious even, to see how much they don’t want you.”

The strings slither towards the dapper’s limbs, starting to latch themselves around his ankles, then his wrist. However, toxic green orbs are soon to catch a glimpse of movement, a slight twitch. That small movement made a smile spread on Anti’s face, though something did catch him off guard.

The dapper’s hand clenched in a fist, closing itself right around the red thread sneaking to his neck. Slowly, Jameson’s head lifts, dull sapphire eyes glowing a bright royal blue. Eyes full of anger and disgust towards the demon in front of him. How was this even possible? No one had ever been able to take a grip of his strings, and yet this only brought glee to the demon. His glitch laugh echoed around the room, a laugh full of victory.

After his fit of laugher he sighs and leans down to Jameson’s level. His green eyes connecting with his sapphire ones.

“Finally, you show your true self. A monster, just like me~”

Puppet Master AU

The dapper took calm slow steps, sapphire irises locking on the item he was looking for. Satisfaction was evident on his features, seeing his work coming to fruition made his heart leap with joy.

Especially seeing the magician held in place by translucent strings.

“James! What are you doing?” Marvin asked in panic though a grunt soon followed once the steel-like strings tightened around his throat. A string of blood slid down from the fresh wound but that didn’t seem to stop him from talking. “W-Whatever He’s telling you to do— Ack! You d-don’t—!”

“{Oh please!}” Jameson signed with force, cutting Marvin off. He sighs sharply, upper lip twitching in disgust. “{Why would it even cross your mind that despicable demon is behind all of this?}”

Jameson scoffs, almost letting out q laugh before turning an walking away. Ah, there it was; Marvin’s tome.

Sapphire eyes shine with slight malice yet excitement and hope. Everything he was doing was to accomplish one goal and one goal alone. Protect Henrik no mater the consequences.

Fingertips brush against the worn out leather binding of the book and that alone sends a chill of power down his spine. However, from behind he can’t hear Marvin struggling to break free. “Don’t do this, Jem! We can h-help you!” Those words made Jameson snap back, anger washing over his face. He takes a few strides and soon kicks the magician’s face. His foot then lands on Marvin’s throat, causing him to gag and choke. The more he speaks, the deeper the grave he digs himself is. Mismatched eyes staring up in fear at the dapper towering over him.

“{You have no idea what I’ve been through. All of you and your lies of wanting to help—}” Jameson shouts in Marvin’s mind. “{I will only say this once. You and that idiotic hero better stay away from me and Henrik, cross me and you will regret it.}”

Puppet Master AU

Henrik Von Schneeplestein. The best doctor in the whole state. Graduated medical school within two years. Managed to become head doctor only in his fourth year of residency. What usually takes more than 10 years he managed in six.

Married at a young age, seven years after he divorced. Father to Elaine Schneeplestein, who is currently seven years of age. A workaholic, addict to coffee and strict in his work place. Yet, very kind and loving. A respected man.

Anti’s favorite puppet...

The last thought made Jameson’s hands clench into fists in anger. He sat under the farthest streetlight, right outside the hospital. If the dapper calculated correctly, Henrik should be walking out of the hospital right about now...

And just in time, the doctor walked out of the glass sliding doors. His hair, usually well kept in a half up half down style, tied up in a messy bun. He removed his mask and tossed it in the garbage, to then pick at a small box out of his inner pocket and soon pulled a cigarette. Jameson brows furrowed with worry, since when Henrik smoked? Why would he do that to himself? The dapper made a mental note to search for all the small carton boxes and throw them away.

Then again... Jameson knew the pain he had to go through while being captive by that demon. It angered him... that so called hero and that idiotic magician... how can they claim to care for Henrik and they left him to rot... just how they did to him.

“Jamie? Is that you?” Jameson snapped from his thoughts when he heard the familiar German accent, and he couldn’t help but to feel embarrassed for being caught. “What on earth are you doing out this late! You will catch a cold. Here—“ He Doctor shimmies his lab coat off his shoulders and soon drapes it over Jameson’s shoulders. “You should not be wandering around this late... It is not safe.”

{I could say the same to you, Schneep.} The dapper signs though his eyes avert to the ground, an attempt to hide the blush. How could Henrik be so kind and gentle... {I-I just wanted to wait for you, as you said, it is quite dangerous during the night.}

Henrik blinked and soon chuckled lightly. “Why, you do not have to worry for me, my dear friend. Come, let us walk together. I will serve you a cup of tea as soon as we get to the house, yes?”

Jameson nods in agreement and a smile is soon to appear on his face. He soon follows close to Henrik’s footsteps. Once Jameson saw the doctor’s scars... he instantly knew they shared the same pain. They went through the same hell... in that moment Jameson had sworn to protect Henrik. No matter the cost.

“{It’s okay. Just breathe, alright?}” Jameson whispered soothingly into Henrik’s mind. He sat at the edge of the bed, his hand resting in a comforting manner on the doctor’s trembling shoulder. “{You are safe… As long as I live you will be safe. Here, I brought some tea. I recall you saying you wouldn’t want to have tea, but trust me it will help get rid of that nightmare.}”

Henrik shudders before sitting up. Uncertainty hunts his icy blues when they land on the dapper and that alone has Jameson’s brow furrowing with concern. {Is there something wrong?} He signs.

“I-I can trust you, y-yes…?” Henrik whispered, eyes now glued to his scarred hands. “I cannot handle another betrayal… Not after—“

“{Of course you can trust me.}” Jameson signed to then sigh. It had only been a few weeks since he had moved in with Jameson. After convincing Henrik those two where good for nothings. “{You have nothing to worry about, Henrik… You and Elaine will be safe with me. Now, drink up your tea.} Jameson then turns towards the night stand and gently picks the cup. He blows the steam off and hands it to Henrik. The doctor takes the warm beverage and takes a small sip from it, his nerves soon subside, the trembling coming to a stop.

A half chuckle slips by and he gives Jameson a grateful gaze. “I must say… you know your teas.”

“{It is meant to help you relax. I drink it so it helps me sleep…}” Jameson trails mid sentence, a few faint strings snaking over the cup as it slips from Henrik’s grasp and grabbing it before it can fall and shatter. Jameson is quick to hold Henrik up as he slips back into the dreaming world. “{However… I had to add a little something so you could rest.}” His fingers brush off the few brown strands from the sleeping doctor. “{Things will be different… That I can promise.}”
