2. What’s the worst book you’ve ever read, and why?
looking for alaska, but i never actually finished it, so if that doesnt count, then will grayson, will grayson. i feel like both of these books have enough [negative] discourse on this hell site to explain why theyre terrible better than i could.
14. The book that, in hindsight, really should have clued you in to the fact that you’re _________ (queer/in love/doomed to be an academic/etc)
in the hands of the goddess by tamora pierce. i read it in 4th or 5th grade and theres this one scene and i remember it so distinctly, where theres a party at the castle (for jonathans birthday i think?) and alanna goes out into the gardens all dressed up and jonathan comes out and knows its her despite the disguise and he ~unlaces her bodice~ and kisses her and all that and i used to read it over and over and it did things to me
unrelated but also: fuck jonathan he never respected her as an individual & ignored her wishes & was generally an asshole. TEAM GEORGE ALL THE WAY
15. The book that you reread over and over again and get new things from every time
the only thing i reread is the shoebox project and i can definitely say i get new things from it every time, esp when it comes to subtle characterization stuff

30. The book you read the blurb of, constructed a version of in your mind, and were promptly disappointed by once you finally got around to actually reading it.
the scarlet letter! i expected to be some badass feminist novel and i honestly just could not read it. at all. it was so boring and longwinded.
