Ok it’s time to get my thinking cap on today about our half term. The kids already know a couple of things they want to do over half term. Pumpkin picaos obviously on the list. As is picking out our Xmas tree. I know it’s early. We do it every year in half term so we get a good one. We just tag it then come back for him later November. But what is on your autumn half term could do list? When creating a list please remember we don’t have to entertain every single day! Is it even autumn half term if you don’t post a picture of pumpkin picking expedition on the grid? In years gone by I’d have the kids I matching clothes or at least coordinating. I’d make them stand all together and get really mad if they didn’t pose in an Insta worthy way. I focused too much on making our memories look perfect for the grid when in actual fact I was almost dying inside at how stressful it felt. How I’m instaworthy we were, how I was trying to make life look perfect but life felt far from perfect. But there is no such thing. Those perfect shots you see on Insta are only snippets. They are ALOT of behind the scenes work. Planning outfits, planning the day, planning where to stand, how to pose, bribing the kids with whatever to stand in those poses. Life is not an Instagram reel. Embrace the imperfections. Enjoy the moments, take pictures, but don’t stress about them. Take them as you go.
