Part 2 of my stupid Miraculous au
People in Paris are stupid, apparently, because they automatically assume the dude dressed in dark blue and has a hood is the mastermind behind whatever just happened.
Abeille accidentally freezes Alya when Ivan wakes up. Somehow everyone in Paris knows he is a hero.
Everyone thinking heâs a villain makes Nino doubt himself (Duusu is too busy panicking from the lost akuma to notice)
He tries to give it to Marinette, but since he doesnât have her sleight of hand abilities, she catches him in the act. He gives a whole speech about how heâs not worthy of it and Marinette just stares because its a jewelry box, man. She does give him a over dramatic speech (ironically about how he was being over dramatic) before getting kidnapped
And Mylene. And Chloe. A lot of people get kidnapped, honestly.
Adrien just got done walking home when buildings start collapsing, but heâs fine to just start booking it back. Gorilla just kind of lets him, because he was feeling guilty about not letting this kid go to school
Iâve been thinking about how to get rid of the akuma for this AU. Iâve come to the conclusion that having it so only Ladybug can get rid of the akuma is not going to be helpful. Instead, there is a specific way each of the miraculous can get rid of them, though it gets more and more convoluted the further down the kwami hierarchy, and only Ladybug purifying the akuma instantly reverses damage (whatâs this? consequences? wild) ANYway...
They defeat Hawkmothâs swarm of butterflies with what is basically a glorified bug net and Adrien introduces all of Paris to their new protectors: Abeille (Nino banned pun names) and PavonineÂ
Yes, their names literally mean âBumblebeeâ and âlike a peacockâ leave me alone.
Anyway, while all this is going on, Marinette is making fun of everyoneâs outfits. âWhy does this guy look like Phantom of the Opera?â (This is another way of me being bitter that Nino doesnât have a mask in the show) âDid this guy forget itâs September? Why does he have a fur lining on his superhero outfit?â (Heâs a bee, madam.) âWow, I canât believe Parisâs main villain is a guy with a balloon on his headâ (Seriously Gabe, why?)
This is just a transition to talk about their outfits. Because Iâm predictable.
Pavonine is a lot more practical than Mayura. He does have a cloak, but itâs one of those that really only covers your arms, the ones that make you think of witches? hell yeah. As previously mentioned, he has a mask that covers most of his face (Dark blue, with accents of purple to show emotions. yâknow, like Duusuâs concept art), and a hood, because why not? If you got rid of the cloak and hood, his costume is pretty basic. Some nice colors, elbow pads (because he knows that falling off of buildings hurt, unlike others), and some COOL SHOES. Nino has some pretty simple needs, and unlike adrien, he has not been planning this since he was nine. Heâs totally okay with just admiring his shoes. Heâs also the only one on the team with POCKETS, so heâs obviously the most important one there. Nino wearing the brooch like a necklace while in civilian form (heâs too casual to have full on peafowl brooch, seriously) but it flips mid transformation (he went full pink diamond)
Meanwhile, Abeille having the time of his life showing everyone there his costume. Heâs got the honeycomb patterning on the sides, the stripes, the fluff at the top, a KNIFE. Have you seen his knife? he thinks itâs very cool. I see a lot kwami swaps with Pollen where their instincts are to make the color palette mostly black, with some yellow and orange mixed in for flair. But I think that that kind of limits what you can do with the costume. Chloeâs Queen Bee design doesnât have all of the pieces of the Iconic Bee look (which is a sentence I had to type out, oh no), and it was probably kept simple to be easier to animate. But I donât have those limitations, and Adrien doesnât care what is trendy, heâs just doing what he thinks looks cool. Maybe it actually does, and Adrien does have taste. Or maybe it doesnât, but it doesnât matter, because Adrien can finally pick exactly what he wants. Who cares if Balloonhat thinks it clashes?
Does the umbrella scene happen? Is Pavonine in love with Adrien? Does Adrien think of him as a very good friend? Where does Marinette fit into all of this? Who knows...
Throughout the story, they try to minimize property damage and civilian injuries, and everyday more people move out of Paris. There is no magic fix for everything, so construction teams are constantly looking for volunteers. Alya has less time for the Beehive (âThe newest blog about Parisâ coolest superhero: Abeille!â) because sheâs too busy running food drives for people displaced by the attacks and making sure her sisters stay out of harmâs way. The procedure for akuma attacks is less âavoid and carry on with your dayâ and more âscream, run, and try to get to the basement of whatever building is closest.â
Anyway, this is the part where I mess with the timeline. even more.
Around Mr. Pigeon they figure that theyâre going to need someone else on their team (even if it is part time) because someone forget to take their allergy medicine.
Adrien sneezed... so much that day. It was honestly kind of frightening. Gabe stopped trying to get bird villains after that.
They do get a new hero. Fu decides that Marinette can keep a secret (even though, so sorry to her, sheâs kind of terrible at it) and the two of them convince him that giving out another of the main five (Wayzz, Trixx... no others I guess. RIP to Trixx) would be like painting a target onto their back. Adrien and Nino are constantly aware that a supervillain could burst through their wall at any time and they donât want anyone else to have to deal with it. So Fu gives out a smaller miraculous, one that doesnât even have a place in the miraculous box: a thin necklace with a poison dart frog hugging tightly to a pale pearl (because animal necklaces do exist and I donât care)
Marinette sees this box and thinks Nino is being over dramatic again. Instead, she meets her kwami. Jumpp. Jumpp is, predictably, a poison dart frog, but thatâs just for color. They are excitable and nervous (âIâm a little jumpy, heheâ âI regret all life decisions that have lead me to thisâ) and are overall underprepared for being chosen so soon. The two bond immediately (and no, I didnât choose a frog because theyâre good luck. I also wanted to base her costume on Greninja)
Her power is âLeap of Faith,â where she jumps really high and always lands where she intended (if having a place in the Miraculous box make you super powerful, those outside of it probably suck). She and Pavonine defeat the akuma, and he lets her keep the miraculous if she agrees to only use it when the two of them are really struggling. She agrees, and Kwami and Holder go home. Adrienâs upset he missed it but happy.
She makes her next appearance is The Bubbler where I reveal that this ENTIRE THING is out of order. HAHA
Gabeâs bad parenting makes Nino angry, but he has enough control to rip off the brooch before he gets akumatized. Hawkmoth just knows that rude boy is upset enough at him that he would make a fairly formidable akuma and Duusu has to watch it happen (trauma-mia, here we go again).
Adrien uses Frogadierâs (he named them himself after watching all the news clips) appearance to slip away and try to call Pavonine. Surprise! it doesnât work.
Abeille shows up in the chaos and stops all his classmates from flying away (or tries to) and Bubbler decides to launch him across the city. Why didnât he put him in a bubble, I hear you ask? please consider that the dude has a big olâ knife strapped to his side. any more questions?
Cut to teenagers frantically putting up trampolines, mattresses, anything to break the fall of their parents and teachers. Children crying while babysitters take in more and more of the kids left to their own devices in the worst way possible. Anansi and the twins trying to drag down whatever bubbles float close enough while Alya floats away.
The Bubbler gets defeated and his akuma destroyed, but the hospitals are flooded with new broken bones. No deaths from akumas yet. Nino spends every bit of personal time he gets there, apologizing to everyone personally and taking whatever they want to say to him in complete silence.
The newly named Pumilio (the species name for the Strawberry poison dart frog and also means small person in latin) sometimes goes with him, to protect him from particularly enraged family members and remind everyone who the real villain is. Adrien goes on lockdown for three days before Gabriel lets him out.
In the end, it was Kim that recommended doing breathing exercises before class, and Max was tasked with convincing Mr. Damocles. Alya started posting more dumb jokes and ways to calm yourself down than she did about the heroes (excluding the mountain of memes they somehow kept sending her). Sabrina tries to get Chloe to stop being so rude (an uphill battle, for sure) and Juleka tries her hardest to help with panic attacks. Ivan constantly has âFree Hugsâ taped to his backpack (something he will live up to till he DIES), Mylene teaches everyone her calm down song, and Rose gives everyone who looks sad a compliment. Nathaniel draws silly comics while Marc keeps vague posting about everyone from Mme. Bustierâs class and all the weird things they keep doing during akuma attacks (all in good fun, of course, and he ends every post with âlove you guys, but what are you DOING?â) Marinette carries around extra croissants and a blanket is always in the bottom of her backpack. Adrien doesnât know a lot of ways to calm down, but he does carry around fidget cubes, some lavender, and will keep repeating âHawkmoth has no fashion senseâ until they laugh (Alternatively âBackpack where he keeps his applesauce. Backpack where he keeps his applesauce. Jaâamâs got the applesauce that you crave!â). Nino has seven million stickers, and he will offer everyone one, even Natalie. He has begun to memorize his classâs favorite songs, and made them all a personal playlist. Paris doesnât have a Ladybug, but that doesnât mean they donât have a guiding light.
