Explanation is Ezko is only together in pulsefire. In the other universes, their oaths don’t cross, most of the time they aren’t even ware of each other’s existence.

Being able to peer into these alternate realities make them a little jealous and a little angry and, are we even supposed to be together? They’re only able to meet each other in Pulsefire when the situation calls for it because they’re on the run from enforcers, meanwhile these other AU’s of them just walk around oblivious.

In this, they’re fantasizing what kind of life they could be living in those AU’s if they were together. Also its like, they’re unaware the each other having FEELINGS feelings lol. So when they look into those au’s and see they don’t even meet, its another feeling of “Are we not supposed to be after all?”
