I don't want to overstate it but these might be the greatest things I've ever seen...
The ""concept"" of a newsletter intrigues me bc like, instead of passively posting about stuff, if I con people into signing up, I can force them to read about my current interests...
Not going to lie, flipping through an 85 year old magazine and seeing this did make me a little emotional, we are all of us in constant communication with our pasts and futures.... I wonder if they will still like detective stories in 6939
Femme Fatale is obviously the trope everyone talks about but another one that I've already come across twice is 'women doing leg work in catching criminals that professional (male) detectives can't do' which is interesting

Hrmm....
I'm sure this 1920s glowing paint is safe
Poking around the pulp available on the internet archive and firstly I love the tone of this ad and secondly am struck by how the ads in this issue from 1940 don't have a clear target demographic, ads for men's exercise programs, job training for young men and women, women's clothing, insurance for old people, music courses, etc etc., it seems to lean slightly in favor of ads geared towards men but it's definitely not only catering to men which is interesting
