We got our first egg!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy that my girls are finally starting to lay!!!!!
It's so tiny compared to a store bought egg! I love pullet eggs! They are so cute!

Our first pullet egg. It's about time! The hens are 6 months old. We don't know if this is from the Barred Rock or the Dominique.
The two pullets who were laying are starting to taper off as expected as we approach winter. Haven't gotten any eggs for a few days and today there was this one:
Yeah, she missed a step. Got the insides and the membranes, got the final color coat, forgot the shell...
We got a neat double yolked egg from one of the pullets yesterday. It was huge! Miss Lucy's adult sized egg for scale:

There were two normal sized yolks inside. I can't help but feel bad for whichever little girl laid this beast of an egg. 😬
