The wildest part of these recent pull-list notes is that there is only one Marvel book listed, Miles Morales: Spider-Man #18 As you can see, very little is coming out new that I am making sure to get and some titles that I do want to keep following I have not been able to find word of when they will be returning to the stands, if ever.

Pull-List notes from winter/spring 2019.
As you can see from the notes above I gave Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man a try.
It had a couple of things going for it: It was written by Tom Taylor, whose work on All-New Wolverine won me over a to a character I had no history with or interest in. It claimed to focus more on Peterâs life and his local world (which is when Spider-Man stories are best).
However, the art wasnât my bag and despite the local focus of the âFriendly Neighborhoodâ the first story introduced Under York, some subterranean reflection of New York City with its own super-powered beings. Yawn. It also is trying to go back to the sickly version of Aunt May by giving her cancer. This the second time a title with the name Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man disappointed me. I tried the volume by that title that came out in 2005, but it began from the first issue as part of a tie in with the uneven and ultimately uninteresting âThe Otherâ storyline. Â
Dear Marvel, never start a new series as part of a crossover event! Oh, and the question mark and half-circle by the Annotated Marvels was just a reminder to flip through it in the store, I wasnât going to buy another version of a comic I am not a huge fan of.
Comics on my pull list for winter 2018-19.
As you can see in the notes above, some weeks in this period from December 5th, 2018 to January 23rd, 2019 were very light in terms of books that came out, and others were heavier. You can also see that I got the last issue of Border Town before the series was cancelled as a result of the accusations of sexual assault and harassment against the writer. I had no intention of supporting the book after that revelation while he was still on it, but it was such an interesting take that I wish someone else could have taken it over. But whatever, comics get cancelled over less all the time. . . so if that is what it took to make sure he doesnât profit off of comics when he was responsible for making it a less safe and welcoming place for women, then so be it. I also started getting Wonder Woman again in this period because G. Willow Wilson started writing it. I am enjoying her adventurous stories and the development of a supporting cast of mythological creatures, sometime villains, and normal folks. I also started getting Lion Forgeâs Quincredible in this time, which I am really enjoying (despite the art not being to my taste much of the time), but it has a great YA vibe. The titles that are crossed out are ones I picked up at a different comics shop than my normal place because they were not on my pull-list yet.Â
