20. What haunts them?

Man, you really went for the throat with this one, didn't you? Posti tends to be something of an optimist, opting for a 'water off a duck's back' approach to life. Is it the healthiest thing in the world? Not always, but it at the very least means he doesn't have too much haunting his conscience. ...Or, that's what he likes to put on for the people, anyway. Even his own subconscious clings to the idea that nothing bothers him. However, something heavy haunts him so, an oppressive force that keeps its many eyes upon him. In the past world he hails from, he made decisions in his sudden leadership that turned out to be poor ones. That world was left behind as a result of a reckless decision, and now he harbors a sense of inadequacy that even he isn't fully privy to. That old world clings to his shoulders like an invisible burden. Posti hasn't let himself recognize that just yet.

Vinculum Proper has a long and complicated history with many a ruler throughout the ages. Before the recently-appointed Lord Amitai, there was Lord Dawn. A serious but kindhearted leader, initially, she did her best to lead the people with a level head and a steady hand.

The thing is… this last leadership wasn’t the first time she ruled Vinculum.

Half a decade ago, she ruled in tandem with her sister, Lady Morgan– or rather, the Shadeborne impostor which stole her form. This impostor took Dawn’s eye in an attempt to claim her life and while this ultimately failed, it began the long spiral downward for Vinculum’s queen. Dawn resigned from her rule not too long afterward, finding she could do very little to help the situation with the impostor from within.

Years later, after the death of the Impostor, Dawn was once again offered the position of queen. She accepted out of a sense of obligation, but the amount of work and the paranoia born from dealing with a shapeshifting, mildly mind-controlling Shadebeast gave way to a colder leader: the Beast Queen of Vinculum, as referred to by the more scornful of fellow leaders. All were regarded with suspicion, and even her closest allies were beginning to be pushed away. She was beginning to hold onto Vinculum with an iron fist…

When it seemed war would be inevitable… she resigned once more, against all odds. Only a handful of people know what caused her to change her course, but she seemed to move with a purpose and a wary gaze pointed in a justified direction…

Dawn now travels across Sornieth with her fiancé, Elijah, and seems to be in better mental health. Getting away from Vinculum has been doing some good for her! Still quite the stoic face, though

3. Share your favorite piece of personal lore!

I have a lot of unwritten lore that I've done with rp partners and stuff, but my favorite piece(s) of marked-down lore have to be the blurbs that [Aeonian] adds to my dragons. I'm still in the process of applying them to all my dragons, so I'll share a few excerpts of ones I find interesting! 20. Describe your lair’s architectural aesthetic.

I have so many lore locations that this would take forever if I did 'em all, so I'll just do my main location of Vinculum! Many of Vinculum's important buildings are carved from giant shells, notably the main palace; the massive Venus comb can be seen for miles, and its interior is pearlescent and inlaid with intricate carved patterns and mighty columns. Those that aren't formed of shells tend to be made from various woods and stone, made waterproof by various methods. 50. Why did you first join Flight Rising?

Parts of it do, yes! A few breed traits, such as Imperials being able to form emperors and tundras having a strong olfactory memory, fall in line with my personal lore. There was also the huge storm from the Bounty of the Elements, and the rise of the Obelisks- both of those were canon events in my lore as well!

My grown obelisks,,,, We have, in order:

Gildas (she/her): Upon waking up, she immediately went out into the world to search the most dangerous of wilds to warn and protect the other dragons here- such is her divine calling. As of the moment, she currently lives a nomadic life across Sornieth, setting up safe havens for dragons to reside while they await... whatever is to come.

Badan (she/her): Immediately upon her awakening, she took to the pen, the brush, the paint... she would spread her warnings across the world through visual medium- such is her divine calling. She currently resides within the small Wind city of Willowgarde, where her haunting and deeply-moving works of art gaining popularity... and influence.
