Today i had my first “close call” with a client. As in he was likely about to attack me. I didn’t realize the severity of the situation because no one had informed me that last time he exhibited the same behavior, he attacked a 15 yr old girl with a weapon and tried to sexually assault her. No one mentioned that. So when I explained what had happened, my supervisor stopped smiling and said the man needed to be sectioned. People hovered around me for the rest of the afternoon. No one would leave me alone in a room. A male staff member insisted on walking me to my car. Sure enough, the client was out in the parking lot waiting for me.
I feel a little embarrassed for having put myself in a situation that left me vulnerable. But for the love of pete, SOMEONE should have mentioned that dang assault!!!
