hey friend! sorry if you have already been asked/answered a similar question, but do you have any recommendations for splatterpunk books (pref w/ heavy sci-fi elements, but not required)? i ran across one of your posts in the tag and it seemed like you know your way around!! have a good day
I’m so sorry I saw this late, friend!!
I hope you don’t mind me using this as an opportunity to talk about/give recommendations to my favorite books that aren’t just Splatterpunk! Spoiler free + my opinions on them!
I’ve mentioned Playground I believe- It’s a delightful book, honestly. Very dark, gory, and descriptive. I did have to put it down a few times (prioritize your mental health, friend! Put the books down if you absolutely need to!) I also would recommend Playground: Child Of Divorce. Very good read, I consider it slightly better then the first one.
I particularly am enjoying I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream as of recent, it’s not exactly Splatterpunk but it’s still a VERY Good read. It’s only about 11 pages if you enjoy a short read, and I highly recommend it. AM is so interesting to me, and I can’t recommend it enough.
WOOM is another one that I had to stop reading for a while, but it’s a very interesting one nonetheless. It’s not a book I personally enjoy, but I’m happy I read it regardless. It’s one of the books I’d say is more of an acquired taste. No judgement if you like it!
The Slob was one of the hardest books I’ve had to read, I cannot lie. It’s one of those books that just viscerally disturbed me, but if you like that type of book then it’s a good read. The descriptions made me feel very queasy at times, I do not recommend you read this while eating.
I apologize I didn’t recommend a lot of books, I just picked a few that stuck with me off the top of my head! I’d love to talk more about these types of books and the fiction media I enjoy, if anyone would like to humor me!
