A lot of conspiracy theories rely on fake etymology to create the appearance of connections between things or make their fake historical narratives seem more plausible. If you see some conspiracy theorist claiming that certain words come from certain sources, I recommend checking their claims against something like Wiktionary and/or Etymonline. Also, keep in mind that just because a word Christians use today has pre-Christian, even pagan origins, doesn’t mean that there was some evil conspiracy to twist the alleged truth of paganism into falsehoods or something. All it usually means is that a local word was used to describe or approximate a Christian concept to a new audience. That’s not evil or sinister, that’s called “translation.”
