MYST LAGOON has a cover!

Last I posted about this little project, I went and completed 2 more pieces for Vagrant Verity Chronicles: MYST LAGOON. First and the more simple of the two was a simple tutorial pop-up that would guide the player to the basic combat controls.

Second, and more notable is right up top. The "cover" artwork that you'd see on the case and probably in loads more places if this were a real videogame. I really wanted to go for the feeling of mystery and adventure in this one as Doyen looks out across the lagoon into the mysterious castle of clouds (That's the Myst Lagoon!) there was a time where I was tempted to go for a more overcast dreariness or a sunset, but bright blue skies and seas just fit this "game" far better, and I think the cover artist for a game like this would take that into account when deciding on the elements to represent this adventure.

Now sure, it’s not really a game that many people had a hype for. (I don’t think many people knew that this was a game that came out). But for me, I really liked the game!

I bought it back maybe 5 years ago, at least. I don’t quite remember; I’ve had a PS3 for a while. The game released on September 5th, 2013.

It’s got quite an interesting plot though.

In the game, you play as a boy named Kutaro, who has been whisked away from his home on Earth to the Moon by the villain of the game, The Moon Bear King. From there, you receive magical scissors, who are known as Calibrus, and make your way out of the Moon Bear King’s castle. The main plot of the game is that there is a stone of light known as the Moonstone, (that’s been shattered into shards that are being guarded by the many bosses that you encounter (known as Generals); forgot to mention that you have to revive the Moon Goddess), in order to be able to return home to Earth.

The bosses are interesting themselves, as they’re based on the Chinese zodiac animals. So, you’ve got the main bosses such as:

General Tiger

General’s Pig and Sheep

General’s Bull and Horse (Who are married)

And many others.

Best thing about it was that it was pretty cheap too. At my local store, they also have another collectors I'm planning on getting. This Hakuoki game is third installment in the Hakuoki series, and I plan on getting more. It's in very good condition, and it includes:
