i picked Bodoni for my blog title :) i am a big Bodoni fan, it's very legible at that size, I love the contrast between thick and thin, and it's also a total classic, which are all things suitable for a font blog i think
15- i really really hate Myriad. it doesn't even pass into "it's so ugly it can be funny in the right situation" territory, it's just bad. it's so corporate. (like it was the apple branding font for a while). i feel like it represents the current state of the world /neg
graphic designers take fonts so seriously and it's honestly fucking hilarious to me. one of them asks for feedback on a perfectly good flyer, and the rest all form a little huddle around the screen, squint very seriously at it, and go, "no... no you've used Proxima Nova, we use that for print. this is digital, you need Roboto instead."
and you look up the fonts later out of morbid curiosity and they're just like. basically the same font gjdshgkdslghslk
i'm sure there are a lot of important differences! no, i cannot see them. i am an editor, not a graphic designer; i possess a different set of mundane and pedantic superpowers, such as the ability to instantly determine if you've used the wrong kind of dash. your job is silly and so is mine, but without us, god knows they'd be splicing commas in Party LET. Come, let us laugh at ourselves for a little while.
