To be honest, I miss college. I miss CSULB. I miss stressing out about homework, essays and projects. I miss losing sleep just so I can attain an education. Although I was originally a pre-Nursing major, I'm proud to have graduated with my BS degree in Public Health. I realized that with everything that is going on around the world, especially this country, the knowledge I gained has helped me tremendously. And that's when I realized... it is much bigger than just aiming for straight A's like I did. It is much bigger than these "President's Honor List" award certificates. You see, all I cared about was getting straight A's and obtaining that degree. But it has become personal. This is it. This is what it prepared me for. I've been drowning in my own thoughts lately and I've been inspired to make a difference. To be the change I want to see in this world. God blessed me to have the privilege to graduate from a very diverse university - it definitely exposed me to different groups of people and it was the best experience of my young adult life. And it breaks my heart that there are young adults such as myself out there who are fighting to have an education like I did and are now put on hold, if I may say, because "education is a privilege". I pray to God that I may live up to the day when education becomes a right, when health care becomes a right, when gender equality becomes a right and to exist with no walls becomes a right - and I'm talking worldwide.
