idk how many caught onto this detail, not enough thats for sure cus i havent seen a single person mention it but then again rebb mentioned it super briefly in the last dev stream— apparently marie (proto wisp) wasnt born able bodied! and her legs, or the weird looking shoes she wears, are actually some sort of prosthetics!
thats so cool?! i love differently abled bodies being embraced in design. prosthetics?? always a yes from me. and it makes SO much sense for the infestation to make her float??? like oh you cant walk/have issues with your legs? no worries BOOM FLY HOE!

If I don’t get KIM messages from Eleanor about wanting this woman so bad it makes her look stupid and/or about her fumbling/too embarrassed to talk to Marie I’m gonna be slightly disappointed lol (tho we don’t even know if the Devil’s Triad gang will be in the mall yet huh?? oh well, I can have one sided goth yuri in my heart 🫶)

While I do think Marie’s design is pretty disappointing for the most part, she and Lyon do feel too safe in compare to the Hex, and I would even argue a bit that the Hex also have a similar “safe” look feeling if you compared them to Hayden Tenno’s design, but there is a balance between of them being recognizable and the body horror aspect of Warframe. I am gonna play devil’s advocate (pun intended) for a bit with her design since I’ve been seeing a mix bag of praise and pretty harsh criticisms, the latter more so in my feed than the former.
I actually do like how she actually has more scaring, though not obvious similar like the Hex and the Round Table (besides Kaya), compared to Lyon from what I can see (I am not counting his concept art since it can go deeper on his design). He looks more like a cosplayer while with Marie you can visibly see her hand having the Wisp’s skin melding with hers and from what I can tell is her feet seem to be in the process of melting away, but that part is definitely harder to see. I have noticed some parts of her arm look a little scarred but it’s hard to tell with her nun attire as well. From what I noticed with a lot of the critique of her design is her face not having any scars, which is valid, but Lyon also has barely any on his face yet she gets the worst of it from what I’ve seen. There is a lot of focus on her face and many saying she’s very doll-like, but she does seem to have some texture like the other protoframes. It seems like she might be really young because she does have some laugh lines, so she’s probably around in her 20s. I would say her face texture resembles some of Drifter’s faces.
The one thing I think will probably make me like her more is how she’ll act and who she’ll be once Devil’s Triad is released. What kind of personality will she have? Will she be very suspicious of Drifter maybe even going as far as calling them the devil? Will she be far more antagonistic towards Drifter? Will it be far harder to gain her trust as Drifter will always be known as a Void demon? I feel like these are slightly more important because of how she’ll be written. So far with how DE has written their characters, I feel like I can trust them they’ll do really well, but I will still reserve some skepticism because anything can happen.
And this is something I wanted to point out from what I noticed with a lot of criticisms with her, they seemed to be a lot harsher compared to Lyon from what I’ve seen and this is sadly nothing new, especially with women characters and I think this needs to be pointed out. I’m sure there are harsh criticisms on Lyon, but I’ve seen far more with Marie.
I am hoping they’ll make these characters amazing like what they did with the Round Table.
Question: Does it sound more French to call her Marie-Wisp or Wisp-Marie?
