(Huh? What’s Edgeworth still doing here? Wasn’t his flight this morning?)
He knew the man had planned on heading back overseas so that he could finish up whatever he had been doing before he came rushing back on a private jet. To see if he was alright after his tumble from Dusky Bridge. He understood that the prosecutor was busy, which is why he hadn’t said anything about him leaving again.
...So why was he still here?
“Did you miss your flight?” He knows the answer to that even as he asks. Edgeworth didn’t miss flights. Nor was he ever late. To anything. But it was either that or... what? Was he thinking of staying a while longer?

“You know, I think today was a productive day, sir. The forensics came back positive so it looks like it’ll be a breeze sending this woman down,” Dick said, giving a small, awkward grin - clearly starting the conversation with something positive before he then slowly moved onto the delicate reason that he really wanted to have a word with his boss.
“Sir..? I was wondering if I could have a word with you about my wages?” he finally uttered, already preparing for the potential angry torrent to come.
❝ Mr. Edgeworth! You’re not wearing any green today! ❞ Maya chirps, quickly pinching his arm before dashing out of the way, grinning widely at the prosecutor. // @prosecutormiles

Chief Prosecutor - Miles Edgeworth
Oh, how the frosty haired Prosecutor/Interpol Liaison wanted the to whip him for his words! However, her stomach just got done telling her that she would not have the energy to perform that task to her satisfaction.
Franziska knew that Miles was right, after all, he was rarely wrong when it came to her. She hated that he could always get under her skin so easily, even more so now after his great revival from the ‘dead’. Yet, there was something there besides hunger in her, that made her feel her stomach churn in a weird contradictory way. She ignored that other feeling, to address the crimson garbed, bespectacled man before her.
‘Dummkopf! Still pretending to care about me! I’m not a little girl anymore! I haven’t been since you left me all those years ago!', she wanted to yell at him for acting so concerned about her. 'Didn’t I say I wouldn’t walk in your shadow forever? I am an Interpol Liaison now, yet you still treat me as if I am lesser than you! I am far greater now than some mere Chief Prosector of some foolish district in a Court of Law.’, is what she really wanted to tell him, each and every time she faced him; ever since that day. But again the words would not reach her lips.
“Fool!”, she snapped at him with a stinging, ice cold glare that even her whip did not possess. She stood up sharply, grabbing her lash as if she were going to whip him for his insubordination. But then, her stomach reminded her that once again, she would not have the energy to do what she wished without a backlash upon herself. Instead, she laid her whip down for a moment to contemplate her next move; her cheeks once again becoming a silent shade of pink. After a moment of consideration, she shuffled her paperwork into perfectly neat piles of 'finished', 'in-progress', and 'not started yet' stacks. Afterwards, Franziska's voice still regarded him with a flat tone. "Where are we going, then?", she demanded of him, but her eyes once more giving way to curiosity, and genuine pleasure that he was taking time out his day to spend time with her.

April 5, 12:56pm Prosecutor’s Building - Office of Interpol Liaison: Franziska von Karma --- Franziska von Karma had been working tirelessly since just before the sun rose. She gave no heed to anything other than her paperwork, save for whipping a certain foolish Detective for interrupting the flow of her work. Not long after resuming going over the documents that she overlooking, she felt a presence overshadowing her desk.
“What is it that you want?”, she asked curtly, not even bothering to look up for her papers. Her hand went for her whip, with full intent that if whomever was indeed going to bother her, they would get a taste of her leather lash. --- @prosecutormiles
[prosecutormiles] "I told you I would be here when you woke up."

Gumshoe couldn’t remember much other than the searing pain in his stomach as he was rushed into the theatre. He’d had a gunshot wound before, but that was just in his leg. Now he wasn’t quite sure if he was going to make it out okay. The only thing that reached him were Edgeworth’s words before he went into the emergency theatre.
“I will be here when you wake up.”
The detective had no idea how much time had passed, but he knew that with his gunshot would it would have been significant. The room was still slightly blurry when the words came through, and with ease his memory came back of the horrible attack - and his words before he went in for surgery. A weak smile appeared on his lips and he turned his hand around, giving his boss’ hand a small squeeze. Miles Edgeworth never touched anyone, or allow them to touch him. His stomach still ached deeply, but Gumshoe could only focus on the flutter in his chest.
“You did, and you are,” he said quietly - far quieter than he usually spoke.

“Sir...” Dick started, panting slightly as he held onto the doorframe, leaning in only a little bit. “You have to let me buy air conditioning for the office. I can’t take it. I’m sweating like a pig in there!”
