wasn't gonna drink tonight but then i remembered that mike hiding jane in his closet in s1 led to her having a full-blown panic attack and flashbacks to her traumatic memories from her time spent in the lab, mike saying "it's not my fault you don't like girls!" most likely reminded will of his abusive father and led him to destroy castle byers, aka his safe space, and left him a sobbing mess in the pouring rain because he felt so stupid for ever believing that things could go back to the way they were and that he'd be accepted for who he was, mike's reaction to jane hitting angela in the face with her roller skate led her to have flashbacks to her time spent in the lab again and specifically to how awfully her abuser treated her and will was present when mike told jane that his life started the day he found her in the woods, aka the first day out of the whole entire week will spent going through hell and back as he was hunted down by a monster in a literal hell dimension and then taken by said monster and then brought to an even worse monster who assaulted him, impregnated him with monster eggs and then left him to die.
