Some kagome fans are embarrassing. All I said was: Kikyou is an overhated and under appreciated character. Lo and behold, talk about mischaracterization and bastardization of Kikyou that ensued afterwards.
Even if they watched the anime, it seems like they watched it with their eyes and ears closed. Not only do they have the worst superficial take of Inuyasha and Kik you’s relationship, they make it sound like she spends her entire undead life making kagome miserable, that she manipulates Inuyasha with his survivor guilt, how her past is “petty” and that she’s a villain.
Naturally they ignore all of Kagome’s flaws and openly stated Kikyou had no redeemable qualities. That she’s pure evil.
I don’t know whether to laugh at their low media literacy or pity them. Because I’m sure if they went through just a sliver of what Kikyou did, they would be angry too. And to summarize her suffering as “petty” and make her out to be some spiteful, boy obsessed woman is such an insult.
It’s my fault for even continuing the conversation. After all, you can never win arguments with toddlers.
I personally don’t care what they ship. Just let me love my queen and don’t bastardize her to me.
