"Inuyasha... What do I look like to you? Do I look human?"🏹🪻
InuYasha by Rumiko chapter 173
The disgust I feel towards people who can't stop yapping about how much better Sesshoumaru is as a boyfriend than Inuyasha, and they're women in their thirties or older? Like, obviating how fucked up that statement is after everything he made Inuyasha go through, and that Sesshoumaru is literally the worst person in the show right after Naraku....
Ma'am, Inuyasha's supposed to be a 15 year old. Maybe stop picturing a relationship with a minor or expecting him to behave like an adult? Like that's creepy as fuck, even as a nine year old I only ever felt maternal towards Inuyasha. I swear, this anime only attracts delusional weirdos. There's no universe in which someone like Sesshoumaru's gonna treat you nice, lady. Like it's canon that he's a groomer and a bad husband and father who held a blade to his child bride's throat. But I guess if you want to be with an emotionally unavailable guy who won't ever show you affection or even say outloud that he loves you, he's a great choice 🙄
kikyo, they could never make me hate you
you deserved better

guess what I learned how to do (I'm 'bout to make it everyone's problem)
The neglected timeline of Inukyo every Inukyo wants to be respected for it is valid, is that Kikyo was making Inuyasha more human, more tame, more domesticated, to the point that being human permanently did not scare him like he previously describes being human made him. He felt safety for the first time. His temper decreased significantly because of her. He no longer said mean things or tried to put her down. He learned how to be considerate of others feelings, first with her.
There is unsung moments of tenderness between inukyo in these events
There is a drastic change in behavior and expression with Inuyasha in particular.
Kikyo is described to have a calming aura, that put others at ease by Kohaku. She soothed Inuyasha most of all.
So while the tragic love song may be filler
...it had to have gotten some of it right.
If you think Inuyasha has to be hotheaded brash, and emotionally immature to be himself, I remind you it was Inuyasha only that understood Kikyo’s heart truly, and she is the most difficult character to empathize with.
