#1: Wednesday.
#2: Thatâs still not a word. Wednesday? What even is that? They just made up a word.
#1: Give them some credit! Thereâs Day at the end of it.
#2: Yeah, and a day is a made-up concept. But, sure, letâs say I give them thatâbut Wednesday? Wed? What, am I supposed to marry someone today?
#1: Hey! I didnât make Common. Or the concept of time, really.
#2: I know. But you still Watch them! I donât understand it.
#1: You Watch wild life, you never could understand.
#2: Isnât that coming soon?
#1: What?
#2: Wild Life.
#1: I dunno. I donât work on that.
#2: Oh well.
#1: Let me get back to work, then.
#2: Youâre the one that spoke about your weird Wednesday.

âFriend!â Friend approached them, calling out their relationship title. âI donât think Iâve ever seen you with braids! Whatâs with the new look?â
Ah, right. That. They havenât worn braids since they were an Apprentice, which was lunar cycles before meeting Friend. That wasnât surprising. They tell them just that. âOh, I just wanted to try them out again. Havenât worn âem since I was an Apprentice.â
âYou wore braids when you were just an Apprentice?â âŠThey really didnât know why they didnât anticipate that reaction. Luckily, Friend wasnât the judgemental type, but more of a curious person. They had been looking into Listeners, after all, which was way too far in their opinions, but they werenât talking about that right now.
âYeah,â They still confirmed to their friend, âMy Guardian used to braid my hair, but my Trainer at the time didnât like that. I had to unbraid them before class and braid them afterwards. It quickly just got tiringâI couldnât do it anymore.â
Friend looked⊠Almost skeptical, though they knew better. âI always hated Guardians,â Friend said, but they knew that it was because they never had a Guardian themselves. They smiled at Friend.
âJaiunus Somnusâ soon,â They informed them, just like everyone else had been doing recently. âSee if you still stand by that then.â
âI am not getting a shard!â Friend screeched, and they just laughed.

[Though that is not true. I believe I have never seen something as bright as Jaiunus Somnus.]
[âPerhaps Light goes in circles; It hurts our eyes, but only to a certain degree. Once it reaches past that, it is beautiful.]
[I know. I know you think Iâm crazy, because who doesnât?]
[But maybe thatâs what THEY intended. Maybe, maybe the only beautiful thing we can ever see is Life, Light in itself.]
