Apologies for the delayed update but the package has been sent out! Again, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to write a postcard, or create their own :)

We hope to try something different next time, and please feel free to support us again when that time comes!

A big thank you to everyone who sent in their postcards either physically or digitallyーwe have notified those whose letters have safely arrived and are currently just waiting on one final postcard to reach us. 

▶︎ We’re incredibly impressed by what we’ve received so far! Everyones individual approach to the postcards were fun and creative; its great to see so many iconic features from all over the world! Despite the drop in participants since 2015, we really appreciate those who joined us this year and are glad to have worked together C:

One month left!

Firstly, thank you to all who have messaged us about participating! We wouldn’t be able to continue running this year without everyone’s help.

We’re excited to remind everyone that our project is still underway and we hope to begin on the actual product as soon as we have received all postcards and letters from our participants this year (:

Can’t send us a postcard?

As it's a busy time of the year, we understand it’s difficult for everyone to make time in order to mail us their messages. If this is the case, we encourage you to email your submission to [email protected]

NEW UPDATE: As an alternative to mailing us a postcard, please also consider emailing us any photos (by camera, phone, etc) you’d like to share of your home country, along with your message to Kakki. For example, if there are any famous cuisines you’d like to introduce to him. Be creative :)

Send us a message if you’re interested but also please understand that we cannot accept photos that feature your face in clear view, due to privacy issues. We will select from your photos accordingly, and compile them into postcards (with your messages) to add to our project

We hope to let Kakki know that his overseas fans all appreciate him very much and we want to share something of ours in return !

Kakki’s birthday is next month and we are currently collecting birthday messages!

The deadline November 20 is drawing near, and if you haven’t already done so, we’d like everyone who is interested in joining us this year to send @project-tk an ask, just to let us know how many submissions to expect :)

When you’re ready to mail us your submission, please message @lost-in-hibernation for the mailing address before 20 Nov. 

Hello and thank you all for your patience as we decide the structure and schedule for PTK in 2017.

As a group we have discussed the practicality of many options, and have finally settled upon a POST CARD COMPILATION. This involves you, our participants, either purchasing OR designing a postcard and writing a birthday message to Kakki on the back. 

If purchasing a postcard:

We ask you choose a design that represents your country. 

When all postcards are collected, we believe this will be a unique feature in showing our support as overseas fans in particular; we anticipate that our support will be effectively conveyed from all around the world.

Please leave a 1.5 cm margin along the top of your postcard (landscape) or on the left side (portrait) for binding. Please see below:

If designing your postcard:

As usual, you are free to draw/create anything you wish.

In the past, artwork entries have always been of Kakki/his characters, if anyone needs some guidance

This can be done digitally using software or traditionally with pens, pencils, markersーwhatever you are comfortable with!

Paper colour is up to your liking.

Preferably choose a thicker paper (for example, 140gsm or 210gsm) to provide structure, and to also match with the store-bought postcards. Craft cardboard should also be adequate.

If drawing digitally and printing, perhaps see if nearby printers have these paper options available. But please do not stress your wallet if not!

Once again, please refer to the above dimensions when making :)

Need more space to write or draw?

If you find that one postcard is not sufficient enough space, you may also send in up to 2 separate sheets of paper of the same dimensions as your postcard (double-sided allowed). Please make sure the sizes match!

Sending us your postcard

This year, the postcards will be compiled by @lost-in-hibernation As per usual, please message her once you have finished your postcard and are ready to send. She will then reply with her address privately and you are welcome to send. We hope you understand that this is for privacy reasons.

❗️❗️IMPORTANT❗️❗️

Please put your postcard in a mailing envelope first, then write the mailing address ON THE ENVELOPE, AND NOT ON THE POSTCARD TO KAKKI.

You are welcome to write “To Kakihara Tetsuya/柿原徹也様” on the postcard itself, where the address normally goes, but please do not write lost-in-hibernation’s Australian address on the postcard!

Q) I am unable to physically mail my postcard to you. What should I do? A) As usual, we will be accepting online submissions. Please scan and email your postcard to us at [email protected] However, we ask that this only be for people who have designed their own postcard. We do not quite see the need to scan and reprint a store-bought postcard, but please feel free to message us if this is the case and we can discuss! :)

As mentioned in our previous posts, we wished to try something new for Project TK 2017, and opened a chatroom welcoming any ideas that could be used instead of, or in conjunction to, our usual book composed of fan letters.

We sincerely thank everyone who put the time and thought in contributing to our chat room!! (Shoutout to snowflake @ slack, we’re guessing @snowflakepaw , who actively contributed majority of these ideas!)
