I didn't do a formal post yesterday cause I was starting to get a bit dispirited and frustrated with how long it was taking, but ahhh! The two base layers are now at a wearable point!!!

It looks a little odd in this photo because I haven't finished the waistband yet, but I'm planning on handsewing that on, as it's not done yet.

In hindsight, the straps probably should have been altered to be brought in slightly, as they have the tendency to slip off the shoulders, but I'm planning on pinning them to whatever my underlayer ends up being.

I'm currently erring on not trying to make the overskirt, or at the very least leaving it until after I've made the bag and possibly the gloves, because the outfit is honestly really cute without it.

Plus I'd rather have a bag than another layer XD.

After dinner, Salim lingered back until it wasn’t as busy to attempt to talk to Mr. Seymour again, wanting to set the record straight and start off on a better foot. The tension was very obvious. Mr. Seymour only knew Salim as the troubled boy who partied too much in college and distracted Tiana from her studies. But Salim attempted to explain how much he’d matured since then, and that he loves Tiana with his entire heart. Mr. Seymour wasn’t entirely convinced, but once Salim mentioned the pregnancy, he seemed to have a slight change of heart. After agreeing to meet up and talk things through, Mr. Seymour called his wife to let her know what had transpired. 

And I decided to redraw it cuz why not?
