Profile:
That moment between exhaling and taking a new breath, before gravity kicks in and you fall, that fleeting darkness when you blink and that bright explosion when you’re torn apart- forcibly passing through the magic of the crystal to be stitched back together into this existence with a flash of light and shattering of diamonds… all of that- those sensations and the creeping calm cold that slithered into your bones, cradling that fragile little flame of soul as it dimmed… all of it was her.
The dark specter- a pale woman cloaked with night and blue eyes like the midnight sky, Etro… she was seen as a teacher and caregiver. Welcoming and terrifying in a way that felt like returning to somewhere important after a long time.
She  holds reign over death and in a limited capacity life as she is also Eos, as their mother is a part of her- mothers other form when it is time to bring home the souls that had left Eos arms to experience life. The phoenix is part of the cycle of life and death as well- the connection between the two goddesses. Phoenix down was indeed a miracle item- rare and strict in its limits but Etro was still the one who decided if you came back.
*Please note this version of Etro is built on the lore of FFXV*
NAME:Â Etro
Eldest daughter of Eos, Astral of death, the end of The Cycle, Eos second form and her other half, Mother, Eos.
A calm loving and somewhat cold Astral, Etro holds reign over death and in a limited capacity life.
Having been around since the beginning, the other gods are young comparatively and she has a tendency to dote on her younger siblings no matter the form they have taken.
HEIGHT:Â Varies, tends to take on a similar size to the one she appears to.
FACE CLAIM:Â undecided yet*
APPEARANCE:Â takes the form of a beautiful fair skinned maiden in a long black dress, dark hair and deep blue eyes. She may appear to the dying, able to cross the barrier between her realm and the mortal plane as a soul passes- when she is unable to cross she can still take form but is veiled in black as though the separation was only that thin fabric. Aulea and Etro have similar appearances
When present, there is a subtle echo to movement that is just barely out of time with the rest; her shade shifting the surrounding shadows- essence following all of Eos children, mortal and immortal alike
When her true voices cross the veil, it is varied- sounding like several voices of differencing volume and cadence speaking at once as shadowed murmurs.
PERSONALITY:Â there is little information about Etro and even less
Quiet kind and motherly she welcomes her children home- though patient she does have a more stern side and when pushed, a vicious temper. With reign over death and the darkness that she keeps from devouring their mother and the star- there are many many ways that suffering can be applied to those who anger her.
  Verse:
Ancients: Before the Astral war. (and possibly just after)
First Kings: anywhere during the time of Ardyn and Somnus
Last kings: any time during brotherhood and the game.
HISTORY: Having been around since the beginning, she sees the other gods as young, comparatively, and she has a tendency to dote on her younger siblings no matter the form they have taken. She is a teacher and caregiver. Welcoming and terrifying in a way that feels like returning to somewhere important after a long time.
Though the first of her siblings- Etro knows already of her destiny. After the star is spent and her siblings have joined her… it is her duty to put Eos to rest and extinguish the light before she could join them all at last.
They were meant to be together, all of them, to protect the star but her siblings were still too young and rash and impulsive. And when the threat drew near they fought amongst themselves instead- the parasite riding the meteor Bahamut summoned.
The Star Scourge used stolen pieces of her to block and devour the light of the star; it was taking all her power to hold back the scourge as it stole more and more of her. Taking souls and miasma, allowing daemons to leave her realm- allowing Etro, against her will, to devour Eos.
With only this half of the cycle with part of herself missing, with Eos soul still within the Crystal, it is difficult to cross the threshold.
The truth was……Etro was dying. The gaping hole in her chest having not killed her, surviving these centuries without her heart, without Eos, but this threat… it stole her and was causing so Much. PAIN. The daemons crying as they’re forced through the veil, the lives slowly marred by the darkness of her realm, the tortured mind of the healer king… and the scared cries of their brother- made a puppet within his own chosen form.
