I don't have a post!! I use an Epson archival scanner - it's primarily for photos and negatives, but it also has really great settings for newspapers and magazines! I also use photoshop to stitch larger things together (posters, prints, friggin NME and Rolling Stone). I export as PNG - or if I'm in a hurry, I later convert via lightroom. I do this for photos I save as well!

I've been collecting mychem stuff since 2005 LOL - that's when I first started saving magazines, limited pieces (action figures, TBID masks, limited merch clothing (mostly skeleton crew related tbh) . I had most of my stuff in storage during uni and moving around, and only really uncovered it and got it back into collecting once I had a house to put things in lmao.

i started getting REALLY into scanning and saving once I became apart of the mcr archive - that's when I became focused on gathering as much content as I could so we could properly archive and share things in high quality. a lot of media from mychems history is very much of its time - very pixelated, low dpi scans, extremely compressed. which 100% has its charms! and I lowkey love it lmao. but it's not great for longevity of their documented history. I'm also motived by the disappearing 1.0 web - so much is gone, and is being lost every day.

my FAVOURITE piece of mychem history I have/documented is probably the Honey EP - I genuinely thought i'd never get my hands on it. It's so hard to get bullets stuff, it's soooo expensive and bc of that I feel like we're missing a lot of important things (phantoms, vampires, old merch items [tho between @killingbeforekilling and I we have quite a bit but still not ~everything lmao). I also love LOVE the Frank lithographs I have, I feel like theyre so intimate and such a gentle insight into the band. I don't have scans of those yet as I'm a bit worried about reprints / fans being taken advantage of which is dumb idk.
