Something that seems silly but is oddly frustrating about not being able to lock down a label for sexuality is like.

I feel like the reason I dislike romance novels* as much as I do is because they make me feel like I’m broken for not experiencing my sexuality as vividly as literally every book sex scene I’ve ever read. Everyone always getting off right away, getting “weak knees” over kissing, and I just... don’t feel that. I get that it’s not an accurate depiction, but I’ve also never gotten an accurate depiction. I either get “it’s the most magical, wonderful thing in the world!” or “god it hurts so fucking much and is awkward but keep going or the guy you love will dump you” and neither of those are healthy for me? For whatever reason I’m just not wired the way the MCs in these books are, but also I know that it’s not so godawful as the other side suggests. I just want to be able to feel comfortable with how I experience sex without feeling like everyone is telling me I’m doing something wrong...
