It had been a hectic few weeks for Caroline.  The holidays had meant that she was working long hours and irregular shifts and then trying to fit in catching up with family and friends had left her pretty exhausted.  Her time with Anthony had been more limited than she had hoped for and now she had a big party which the hospital was throwing to thank all the staff for their hard work over the holidays.  Apparently it was an annual event and everyone she spoke to was really excited about it.  Thankfully guests were allowed and so Caroline was delighted Anthony was willing to accompany her as it meant she could attend and spend time with him.

Dressed up in a cream silk flowing dress and her hair left down over her shoulders she felt really good as they arrived at the venue.  She reached for his hand as they made their way to the entrance, “Thanks for agreeing to come with me.  It’s supposed to be quite an event and there are staff from several different clinics as well as the hospital so it’s pretty big.”  She lifted two glasses of champagne off the waiter’s tray at the door, “Here you go and here’s to a great evening.”
