Ā Ā Ā I have no idea how unpopular this ship is, but I would take JuKou any day over SinKou.Sinbad doesnāt give a shit about her. Judal sort of does. Hereās a briefĀ āwhyās thatā down here:
Ā Ā Ā I mean, itās right there on the manga pages. Iām not referencing them, because this is a shounen manga, and Iām not that dedicated to digging through it, and thereās already a great big post floating around about why this ship is pretty great and all that. Ā Ā Ā But to break it down simply, Judal was one of THE FEW PEOPLE to tell her that she had potential, that she could be much more than she was now. Of course this is probably because Judalās got a hard-on for power and conquest wider than the Nile river, but he didnāt have to say that. Heās a walking piece of garbage, but the one thing we can ironically count on him being is honest.
Ā Ā Ā What? What? What? I know, sounds weird? But for what reason would he lie about anything? Lying is technically a defense mechanism, you do it to cover your ass, or keep a relationship established and nice, or any other plethora of odd reasons. Judal has no reason to lie, with that one exception being his escapades in Belialās dungeons. Outside of that, heāll say whatever comes to his mind, regardless of what it is, because he knows no oneās really going to grind him about it. Heās a Magi, heās powerful, and he knows it, because you donāt argue etiquette with a guy who could freeze dry your face off ājust for fun.ā
Ā Ā Ā With that in mind, he tells Kougyoku what he does of his own volition. The reasons for this are endless, but if we look at his character, and his one-track mind of power is everything, then we can assume he tells her- and a handful of other people -that theyāre selling themselves short because they actually are. That theyāre letting their own trivial inhibitions keep them from being the raging inferno of Fuck All that they could be.
Ā Ā Ā And Kougyoku, as cute and sugar sweet as she is, is no exception to this.
Ā Ā Ā I mean the first time I saw her in canon I was legit nervous. Whose this holier than though little woman, swooping in to pick up the pieces of Judal? She just gets up in her gear and WRECKS A DJINN⦠LIKE? WHO DOES THAT? THIS bitch does that.Ā
Ā Ā Ā On the flip side to this, you have Sinbad, who shows up and deactivates the shit out of her just when itās gettinā good. In fact, he does this twice.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Whatās the deal with that? Youāve fought so many random other people, so whatās the deal with this chick here? Seems suspicious, and real fuckinā shady, especially given the fact that a great deal of people were impressed when little miss sweet cheeks finally spread her wings and wrecked some business up.
Ā Ā Ā In addition to this, this man is about as neutral as an independent party in an election when it comes to people in general. This is a man that would much rather talk you into joining him, then doing it by force or other means that would involve a lot of messy involvement. This is probably why he doesnāt completely address Kougyoku or her feelings ( ????? ) for him. Because being able to show up and just turn your adversary to mushy goop so theyāll leave, is so much easier than having to actually fight them off.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Like, if that isnāt a political convenience idk what is? Because if it was a matter of him being someone like, idk, Alibaba? Then I could just chalk it up toĀ āheās just too nervous to tell her the truth because he doesnāt want to break her heart.ā But no, that is ⦠really not the case here. There is just too much evidence grinding against Sinbad to really put him in that light ever?Ā
Ā Ā Ā TL;DR: Is JuKou a better ship than SinKou? No. Not by a long shot. In fact both ships are probably absolute garbage and trash and will probably leave this poor girl feeling sullied and unusual. BUT, at the very least? I feel that Judal wouldnāt try to clip her wings at every turn and end. I feel like heād want to push her to her own limits, even if that meant tainting her Rukh ( since weāve been given evidence somewhere? I forget? That dark Rukh has a lot more volatile destructive potency than its lighter counterpart ).
Ā Ā Ā Weāve also seen that they already have a past history together ofĀ āsome sort,ā and in so many instances of omakeās and things like that, they have this occasional weirdly friendly kinship. There hasnāt been a lot of interaction for them lately for a while, but I literally think thatās because Judalās bouncing from powerful douchebag to another. If anything were to happen to Kougyoku, where she tapped into a massive amount of power and yoloād the fuck out of Kou, I feel like heād show up with that obnoxious grin like:Ā āItās about goddamn time.ā
Ā Ā Ā P.S: I still want the end-game to include her, just so she can wreck at least a fraction of Sinbad for using her like he did. This man has gotten away with so much bullshit and itās time to cash in on all that built up karma.
