I have an au if things were in my favor in the series. Ima give you a lil- so, before Albatross made the pavilion, he made the Animus trident, so it basically works like Thor summoning his hammer or auquaman's trident. It can choose its "chosen wieldier" if they are good, no bad.
In the 2nd arc, Yk how Turtle and Anemone had this epic [not really, but it's still cool] fight? So, Anemone was angry because she couldn't wield the trident, it was because she was 1. A false animus, and 2. She was a lil bratty and oblivious to dragons when trying to change their feelings. So in the first arc, in training, queen Coral was afraid that Anemone's "powers" fading, but it was just that she was a false animus.
