Demons, demons, demons everywhere. Ya’ll are gonna be demons, or at least half a demon - no exceptions. Unless you’re Shoichi Irie or Spanner that is, but those two have their own role in things. As an extra note, this definitely takes place in the 1800′s.

Point #1: Grimm’s Office is an investigative organization originally founded by Luce and Reborn (who happen to be childhood friends), designed to look into any supernatural happenings in the world. About 95% percent of the members are in a contract with a demon (said demons being the 1st gen guardians, with the exception of Giotto who is human). Although investigating any supernatural occurrence is their focus on the outside, the true purpose of Grimm’s Office is to uncover the cause of a massive increase in half-demons.

Point #2: Don’t trust any fancy rings handed out by someone that is clearly not totally sane, because there is a strong possibility that that ring is going to somehow turn half of you into a demon. Unfortunately, Tsuna and Giotto could not avoid this fate (although they were definitely not aware of it), as their parents were in the cult producing these things before their untimely death. It isn’t just those two though, because all the “human” members of Grimm’s Office have also been tricked into wearing these rings. Takeshi Yamamoto, Hayato Gokudera, Kyoya Hibari, Chrome, Ryohei Sasagawa, Lambo – they’re all secretly being turned into hybrids without their knowing! Not even their demon partners are aware, which is an issue.

Point #3: You might be under the impression that Reborn, Luce, and the other Arcobaleno are also afflicted with this same getting-turned-into-a-hybrid problem, but, in fact, they’ve already dealt with this issue like 600 years prior, hence why they’re trying to figure out how the hell it’s happening. All Arcobaleno are without a demon contract due to knowingly being half demons themselves. Naturally, they are all members of Grimm’s Office. However, they’re all spread out into different countries, working with other members also assigned to their division. The same applies to a vast majority of the 10th generation gang, with the exception of Kyoya, Chrome (Mukuro is the demon contracted with her instead of Daemon), Giotto, Tsuna, Reborn, and Luce all being at the home base located in London.

Point #4: Given the kind of AU this is, it's necessary for there to be an antagonist. In this case, it’s Byakuran, plus a mysterious cult that’s somehow managed to stay hidden from the prying eyes of those in Grimm’s Office. Byakuran’s a nuisance for two reasons: one, he keeps trying to figure out why Luce, Yuni, and Aria are never seen altogether at the same time; two, he’s way too determined to get either Giotto or Tsuna’s soul. The only reason he hasn’t succeeded with the latter is because Cozart is in contract with Giotto, Tsuna’s in a contract with Enma, and a deal was made the night Gio made his contract that says Byakuran can’t touch Tsuna unless the kid is left completely alone or unsupervised.

Giotto - or Vongola Primo, if you prefer - is genderfluid, which posed a few problems back in the day. Fortunately, his Guardians were fairly tolerant and understanding, so no issues there.

Except for G. demanding his boss please just dress like a man when there’s a meeting with someone. Primo... Primo, please. You can’t wear that, I get that you’re a woman today, but our guests might not be so understanding. I’m telling you to put on a suit and tie so that you don’t get hurt somehow.

Giotto has a savage sweet tooth, and his Guardians have to make attempts to restrain him from eating too many sugary things. Unfortunately, in doing so, Giotto only decides to eat more sweets, likely while looking his Guardians dead in the eye.
